Russo is alright, but not NT quality. With him we continue the tradition of subpar coaches (Batista, Martino, etc.) Bauza sucks ass. Ramon I love for River because he knows the club so well, but idk bout the NT. I wonder if he'll call up Ferreyra and Menseguez
That certainly might be the case, but I think Sabella's departure had more to do with his poor/deteriorating cardiac health... AND ... as well as an apparently time honored tradition of Argentine NT DTs stepping down once the World Cup has concluded, pior to a new "cycle" beginning with the post-WC Copa America. I don't currently recollect an Argentine DT who - when not fired - did not leave after the "cycle" was completed, the cycle culminating in the World Cup. One of you smart-as-F cats can correct me on that one if I am mistaken. Re: Current shambolic AFA handling of DT, looks to be Bauza. I don't hate the guy, certainly don't like him because of his strong Central roots, but he did win the Copa Lib with two different teams, so at worst he has shown he can successfully coach a team in a tournament. Yes, WC and Copa America are significantly shorter and more compact tournaments than Copa Lib but - hey, trying to positive here. O/T - Higuain. Always liked him, always played his ass off for the Albiceleste, whom he never refused. I am saddened for him - and derivatively ALL OF US - for his suffering various key misses when afforded various at a minimum decent opportunities, at clutch moments of very big games, to punch in likely game winners. He "feels the shirt" and you know the guy is heart broken over his failure to carpe the diem, failures to register which will haunt him forever. But... Now that you are with Jumerdus, Pipita - I can finally say to you -vaff@ncuIooo!!! FORZA TORO
Bauza according to this by Vero Brunati: http://futbol.as.com/futbol/2016/08/01/internacional/1470072388_870187.html
Bauza is horrible, but then again, who on here really wanted Sabella when he came around? Sabella had very limited experience. Bauza has plenty of experience, and he managed to win the Copa Libertadores with San Lorenzo- a feat no one though possible. He also managed to win the Copa with an Ecuadorian side- another near impossible feat. Sure, Sabella had won the Copa Libetadores with Estudiantes, but he had a team that was stacked and was the same core that had been built by Simeone and was centered around Veron. Other than that, Sabella had only been an assistant to DAP, who was a complete failure at every job he had after Monterrey. He failed miserably at River, Corinithians, and Parma. So while I would never have wanted Bauza, but there is no reason why he couldn't have the same success as Sabella and make the world cup final, especially as there are no great teams in international football and argentina is still one of the favorites to reach the final and even lift the cup in Russia. The football will probably be very, very bleak though. That is not how to get people interested. Ramon Diaz would have at least sold out el monumental and gotten people excited about the NT again... Bauza will have the opposite effect. I for one will not be paying my money to see a Bauza team play
Bauza's LDU team - controlled at enganche by a Newell's man, ironically (Manso) - played some pretty up tempo stuff. In fact, one of the contributing factors to Man U crushing Liga in the CWC final was Bauza's edict to continue pushing forward as much as possible, regardless of the score. Sabella would never have done that. Also hope this CannallaHDP does NOT try to call back Messi, that the team under his "tutelage" learns to attack and defend in a system that cannot rely on Pulga's brilliance, despite the dire futbol it may produce. And in all honesty, I don't care if Argentina play a 4-5-1 and win everything 1-0. Just Fu(king win something man.
Sabella at least changed his attacking prowess early in his tenure. He got rid of Pastore and a few other players. Then he put forward the so-called Fantastic Four in attack. I was upset with Tata's lack of creativity in his attack and now it will get worse. Bauza hasn't had an attack anywhere near to what he will have(If in fact it is him), so will he continue a 4-4-2 or try something that plays to our strengths?
Bauza should have selected after sabella , at least the continuation of counter attacking would have been there .
Diego Simeone Mouricio Pochettino Jorge Sampaoli Marcelo Bielsa Marcelo Gallardo Alejandro Sabella Ramon Diaz Edgardo Bauza . . . its how I would have rated my level of excitement and support in the order of "most up top" and "least at the bottom" This is a sad day b/c I know that at least 4 of those names got calls from AFA before they dialed Bauza. We got turned down 4 times before Bauza got a call. That's sad.
Cant blame those guys considering wht kind of mess AFA is. Like I said before... Messi himself has been vocal about AFA mess even before the final match. The final lost itself would only nails it to the coffin for him.
Bauza's main task will be identifying the right guy to start up top and score the big goal in the final, and not getting in the way of the rest of the talent, lol.
Edgardo Bauza "Seguramente Higuaín va a estar. Hay que darle respaldo y confianza. Nadie le regaló llegar a la Juventus".— Silvio Maverino (@mavegol) August 2, 2016 Welp, that's it. Hay que echarlo! Fire Bauza!
My list is mostly for coaches playing high tempo pressing or Bielsaista: Bielsa Pochettino Sampaoli while if I have to choose defensive minded managers then: Simeone Bauza
All the quotes from Bauza translated for those not fluent in Spanish. http://www.mundoalbiceleste.com/2016/08/02/edgardo-bauza-we-will-start-integrating-young-players/
I've lost all respect for Higuain since he went to Juventus, but there is no reason for him not to be called up. He never let Argentina down in qualifiers or knockout tournaments until a Final. Bench him in a Final sure, but why not call him up for the qualifiers? Now, including Tevez in the national team is a monumental error. Unlike Higuain, he has ALWAYS let Argentina down. 1 goal in 24 qualifiers is the worst ratio in history. By far. Most defenders have a better record. Its pathetic. Throw in Tevez's disappearing act as boca was humiliated in the Copa Libertadores, and quite frankly its laughable he's even in the discussion. (not just in the elimination, but he was AWOL in the quarters against Nacional too)
I agree it's dumb how people keep asking about Tevez. It's over. Do you want to see new players and changes or not?
Tevez sucks... Once in a blue moon he does something great but only as a solo effort... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Bauza is not a good choice for NT manager, he must have been about eighth on the list. Sabella, Martino and Bauza all seem the same level of manager, and will not take Argentina to a higher level of football based on the talent available.
sorry for River fans defending Higuain here, he should stay the ******** out of the NT. Same goes for Tevez. This a nightmare all over again
I wonder how long until some of us begin to call Bauza, Bozo? Okay. As for Higuain... Why are people so reluctant to let go of certain players? How many more times must we see the return of players who are chokers? That 05-07 generation has failed and it's time to move forward. They might be great for their clubs but are bonafied chokers for us. The likes of Kun, Higuain, ADM, all need to go away. You have 3 players who are dynamite for their clubs but when the national tournaments come, they are either injured by a gust of wind or decide to choke during the biggest moments. I don't think Higuain gives 2 shits about anything but himself. He should've at least come out and made a statement and apologized for the chances he failed. Not to mention his move to Juve. That tells you he only cares about himself. From all the clubs he could've moved, he goes to Napoli's biggest rivals. He was loved by the fans and the city and he makes a move like that? But it won't take long for Higuain to get hated from the fans of Juve. So congrats, he found another team where the fans will eventually him. If he has any decency, he'd turn down any call-up's and announcement his retirement from the national team. Something tells Bauza will call up Dybala and that's great but I also think he will call up Calleri since he is familiar with him. Calleri played well under Bauza but for crying out loud, i hope he doesn't make him an automatic starter instead of somebody like Icardi. Tata was dumb to exclude him but let's see what Bauza does with Icardi. Another positive I am hoping is more players who are home based get a call-up. Maybe Bauza's closeness to the league will give us that. I don't think there will be an overhaul overnight but the process of bringing in new faces will happen overtime as certain players get phased out.
With so many great Argentine coaches out there, Bauza is an odd choice for you guys. Defensive coach but then again so was Sabella and he took you guys to the WC final. You guys where better off without Ramon Diaz anyways trust me. Not that he's not a good coach but unfortunately he let his son take over which is why he failed with us.
