Not crazy about a Mahrez move as I think we need more goals than he could provide.

Also wonder if Ox and/or Theo might be out the door if he comes in.

Well, if he can repeat last season, that's 17 league goals. That's right up there with the best ever in the EPL. 15 goals is pretty much all you can ask from a midfielder.

17 goals and 11 assists from the wing in the PL isn't enough? That's likely a higher roi than we'll get from anyone else we're linked to

So . . . we're signing Mahrez at this point? Yes? No? Still up in the air?

Jese will very likely come as a back up to Cavani. They are loaded at wingers with ADM, HBA, Lucas, the youngster Ikone (very good).

The last couple of years, Ibra's presence, despite all his goals, hampered the team as well, forcing Cavani to play on the wing, hence creating an imbalance. Blanc a bit rigid 4-3-3 did not help either.
his year Emeri has a more fluid 4-2-3-1 in place with two wingers and a No 10 (pastore) and one can expect the Lucas, Hatem and ADM to flourish. The team certainly looked good last night vs Real.

He had 4 the year before.

Not saying he's not talented, but think we need a center forward.

Is there a buyout? That's pretty standard in Spain, no?

Buyout is around €50m, but reported that Valencia will accept half that.

I've seen him post things from others who have no real sources but he comes back to state that. He mostly quotes from persons who have sources and does not quote something just to be seen, from what I've seen at least.

He mostly collects info from press and other sources. Some reliable, some not, but he doesn't claim ITK status--just shares info.

However don't remember its coming from Sky Germany. I'm pretty sure they are reliable.

Treat with grain of salt - it's basically just a roundup of transfer rumors.

Remember, Jan Aage Fjortoft was first on the scene here, and he's been very reliable on us in recent years particularly when it's come to German/Bundesliga players

No way we get three quality players. But option two looks like a good shopping list.

30m? In this market surely we could get 40...andros fcuking Townsend went for 12m? Sane 34m?

to be honest, if we get (someone like) mahrez and mustafi (and if mustafi is as good as he supposedly is), i would be pretty good with the window. like his contract years, walcott actually has something to prove after missing out on the euro so, along with the fact that xhaka is in and cazorla is back, he makes a viable option up front alongside giroud. and, as jitty mentioned, iwobi remains an emergency alternative. it's a shame that our best striker candidate, sanchez, cannot be relied on to stay up top but mahrez-ozil-sanchez in that second line is damn sexy.

i'd be even happier if we can get campbell, debuchy, and szczesny moved on and some kids out on loan.

I get your point, but while the market is insane, Mahrez is reportedly going for 37 million, and he's the reigning player of the season. Have no problem holding out for 40, but I'll be surprised if anyone would actually pay that.

This guy is the football writer for the Leicester Mercury. He is currently in Ca with LCFC.

I am told Wenger told others during Euros he wasn't in for Mahrez. I would be amazed if he wasn't interested.

    2. \Rob Tanner ‏@RobTannerMerc 54m54 minutes ago
Mahrez situation may be up in the air but I repeat he has no buy-out clause so will cost a lot more than Kante. #LCFC
      1. Dan ‏@Dan_1884 52m52 minutes ago
@RobTannerMerc he either wants to stay or go. It really is that simple

        Rob Tanner‏@RobTannerMerc
@Dan_1884 I don't think it is. He might want to go but #LCFC refuse all offers or can't agree a fee for example...

@RobTannerMerc apologies if you've been Asked before, bit what's your gut feeling. Stay or go?

      Rob Tanner‏@RobTannerMerc
@glennworth I am concerned. He looks happy and Claudio say staying but these reports don't go away and the contract is unsigned

Ox gets at most 25. And that's if an EPL team buys him.

He's 22 and gets into good positions. Needs to stay healthy and get a long run of games.

Agreed. The diff between Ox and the 22 year old you buy elsewhere is that other kid is prob a starter there, he builds confidence being the man, doesn't sweat every mistake is going to put him on the bench for weeks, and gets steady stream of games.
