That is a deeply flawed argument. It assumes that the positions at top of the social ladder are equally divided over the white population. Access to the top positions in society is highly correlated with wealth, education and family connections. Most white people have as little chance as a migrant to reach these positions. In fact the whole debate about white versus black outside of (former) colonial societies is fairly useless.

What does this ranking has to do with racial discrimination ?

In ranking you can find UAE at a decent place. The same country that some people hate here for practicing a form of slavery on some populations from the asian continent. So how serious would you take this ranking about social progress and equality given to everyone ?

I reacted to a specific quote. You should read to the 2 sentences before it:

Now, one can be the victim of discrimination with 1 of the many attempts per month to land a job. People on welfare in the Netherlands must do a minimum of 4 per month I read somewhere. Maybe one is unlucky and gets to deal with such a case in this string of many attempts. Bummer, then it is time to move to the next attempt. Maybe file something with an institution that is there to fight discrimination. We have that. It is never a reason to escalate. Certainly not to start using violence. Netherlands is a country with many, many opportunities and JC tried to make this clear. I provided 1 piece of evidence.

My table shows that Netherlands is in the top 10 of a ranking that measures this:

The capacity of a society to meet the basic human needs of its citizens, establish the building blocks that allow citizens and communities to enhance and sustain the quality of their lives, and create the conditions for all individuals to reach their full potential.

It also measures the opportunity to progress.

Whatever imperfections you want to talk about (fine as we always have to strive to become a better country), this is a country where people can make something from their life. If we take a step back and look world wide, people in this country are blessed. If your response that it is still different for certain groups:

We can conclude from the Unicef's Fairness for Children research that immigration children in the Netherlands belong to the happiest children in the world. So we certainly are doing something right here.

So again, this ranking is about having the chance to progress. I can imagine UAE not being the worst country to live to make something of yourself. I can imagine them having a sharper cut off though. From their human rights violations wiki:

So, yeah. There is that. The index tells more about the Netherlands than this specific country as it is also weirdly shaped with so many immigrant workers that then have to deal with different rules set up by the country.

Shootings in Munich atm. They think there are multiple shooters, at different locations.

Found this, warning it is raw video.

I see a lot of people who appear to wear headphones or something. Don't really know what it is.

Others have answered to your question to what else it could be but pure racial discrimination. That link DRB gave a dutch topic on reddit is worth reading if it translates well.
What are you even responding to?
What I said was about the use of statistics and complete lack of thought/reasoning of their arguments. They just jumped to racism, without thought, without asking why/how/whatever. Thats what my problem is with. If we could blindly use statistics without reasoning to come to conclusions, then..

I clearly must have not properly written out my thoughts for there to be this confusion, but when I read back my post I think I acknowledge that this nation is not 100% racism free. I merely said we are a ''shitload better'' than pretty much the entire world.

Your text is not at all an answer to the argument you quoted. Its a context/explanation at best, but a good one at that though.
I think you make an incredibly good point about the past of this continent. I think you are giving the rest of the world a giant getoutofjailfreecard though. Look at how most of the world deals with minoritys, hell look even at the EU's past of minorities. It is not pretty. The EU now indeed does all have these laws to protect them, but thats to our own credit/failures. Or maybe just learning from our own horribleness of recent genocidal history.

But we learned from it, and changed. Alot of the world has not, most of the world is still mercilessly oppressing minorites. China included more than any nation almost. Shit China is much ********ing worse than us when you compare history and morals. Why would China have anti-racial anti-discrimitory laws? They have minorities too who get brutally put down down whenever they make a noise. So, Ehm. Why should Europe have anti-racial anti-discrimitory laws? Why shouldnt we just brutally put down any minorities who make a noise? Feel free to answer your own questions.

Or perhaps more accurate to your reasoning as it seems to me, what gives the EU the moral highground to not brutally put down minorities who make noise or journalists/politicians/intelectuals who are critical of our regime(s)?

It's a picture that can be read in two ways - and the fuzzy focus is a part of this. That's exactly why I posted it.

In contrast, this can be read in one way only

Fair enough, welcome back. Would personally very much like to hear your view though on my last response to your response on page 44/45. PM or otherwise
    recap (open)
I agree but this seems off-topic a bit considering I dont care about what is true or not. Im not doubting the validity or not of the Quran or Hadiths as truths... And your dismissal of the Hadiths also dismisses the beliefs of all sunni and shia muslims right? Their choice of Hadiths is why they are called one or the other.

I quoted that verse from the Quran because I think its a pretty important demand.
''''It is not for a believing man or a believing woman, when Allah and His Messenger have decided a matter, that they should [thereafter] have any choice about their affair. And whoever disobeys Allah and His Messenger has certainly strayed into clear error.''''
You replied to that it makes sense for the Quran to have that verse, and I agree it fits in that book perfectly. So what? This verse is important to me because of what it demands from muslims, which is me answering your question.
    quran.com
Does that change your view on when a muslim is a muslim so to say. Can a muslim choose not to believe in this verse and others and still be a muslim?

Well the the Hadiths have very much so to do with the teachings of Moh' though, unlike the book of revelations. Its about his life, it containts quotes of him. How is this different than the new testament?

And the Quran attributes human emotions to god too, also very contradictory ofcourse. From Allah the Merciful to eternal punishment for disbelievers (and those kill-orders to those unbelieving people in Medina if we want to take the words of Allah and limit them to just that time and place, though Allah himself did not put a timetable on it infact its followed up with a ''[This is] the established way of Allah with those who passed on before; and you will not find in the way of Allah any change.'' ), wich does not seem very merciful to me. Contradictory to other parts of the Quran though, absolutely.

Btw, who wrote the Quran? Who wrote the new testament? They are all ''later editors''. Mohammed did not write a thing in the Quran, Jezus did not write a thing in the new testament. Kinda felt like I should point that out to add to your critisism of later editors which I agree with fully

I think there is a huge culture difference compared to the dutch when it comes to how we view things like this.. When I look at the fight song, it makes me laugh and cringe and just... :ROFLMAO:

The reverend one is more interesting, but for me it still lacks substance of any kind. His speech is emotional and good and stuff, but he links ''proper biblical'' morality to Hilary without argumentation or anything. Is this really that much different than what the republicans do/havedone?
