Countdown begins for the U-20 World Cup next year in South Korea. The official tournament dates will take place between May 20-June 11, 2017.

24 teams will compete from 6 different federations. Apart from the host nation being automatically included, the 5 spots from UEFA have been filled with France, Italy, England, Portugal, and Germany qualifying from the results of the U-19 Euros.

AFC (Asia), CAF (Africa), CONCACAF (Central-North America-Caribbean), and CONMEBOL (South America) will have 4 spots each. While OFC (Oceania) will have 2. Those remaining spots are still to be decided from various U-19 or U-20 youth tournaments in their respective regions.

The 2015 champions, Serbia are unable to defend their title as they failed to reach the final round of UEFA qualifications.

Players who are born Jan 1, 1997 or after are eligible. We'll likely see a combination of core players from mainly '97 and '98 age groups, with possibly some '99s if they have a standout campaign.

Will Phillip Tietz, Cagatay Kader be options for this U20 team?

Reese n Iyoha on both flanks?

There is no way that Iyoha and Reese should be considered as optimal choices along the flanks. Everything else depends on merit and how players do in the upcoming campaign. Output and results on the pro level would be prioritized of course.

You know you've always wanted to see what a:

    Schurrle - Gomez - Keissling - Hahn

attacking line could do at the senior level; so don't even...

Replace Schurrle with Sandro Wagner and you got it spot on.
