I was actually very happy that Portugal won, it deserved it in the final, it deserved it as a nation who has given a lot to football in the world, and it deserved it as a payback for all the times they have been unlucky, like if bad luck was part of their DNA. Yes, you can debate they have been lucky here and there, but winning games at extra times is always difficult (and tiring for the next game) plus if we look at it, until they played Germany, France had a bunch of pretty easy games till then (yes, Iceland was a good team but realistically they did not stand a chance in that game). And for Portugal, it was not easy to play without their best player for almost the whole final (and more in general, it's very penalizing for them that Ronaldo always gets to big international tournaments at 50% of its potential because he's burned out from the Liga season - and this happens every single time)
