Oh, you don't want to pay a couple hundred bucks to watch our youth squad play a bunch of has beens in a exhibition match? I can't imagine why...

    What do the asterisks mean?

Will be interesting to see who gets added. I think Garber usually throws a few big names in there, and doesn't each coach also get to name a few?

Lastly, I don't get how Luis Robles doesn't get much national recognition, either in the all-star ballot, or USMNT callups. OK I'm slightly biased, but I think he's one of the very best shot-blockers in MLS... a super solid, durable, reliable keeper all around. The Fox announcers seem to say this as well.

Arsene Wenger will put out a good-enough starting XI to give the MLS' best the business. Shouldn't even be close!!! I hope he puts Petr Cech in goal, and at least has Nacho in at LB (THE best leftback in the PL), Alexis or Xhaka and Ozil in MF and Theo Walcott (or preferably Ollie, especially after his great performance at the Euros) up top, and maybe give Calum Chambers some much-needed playing time at RB, hey guys, he's not facing Jefferson Montero this time around, but, he will have his hands full though, defending against Didier Drogba!!!

I say 2-1, in favor of the good guys in the Red & White, so COYF'n'G!!!

Alexis, Xhaka, Ozil should not play a minute of competitive footy until September, or late August at the earliest. I'm glad you're not our manager. ;)

How much QuakeDaddy? The wife and I are flying out but were planning to ditch the game and head to Tahoe, might be interested depending on price though.

Well, do you guys at least like my scoreline? I still stand by my full-time score projection, 2-1 to The Arsenal!!! COYF'n'G!!!

....and yes, I'm certainly not Arsene Wenger, nor am I playing fantasy Premier League Fantasy Football (both DraftKings and FanDuel as well as all other DFS and online poker and betting sites are illegal here in Washington State), I'll leave the managing up to the man with 3 Premier League titles and 6 FA Cups and 20 consecutive years of getting us into Champions League with that honor!!!

It's a preseason exhibition game, so I'm guessing Arsene cares not at all about the score. Talentwise, Arsenal are superior by far, but effort wise, I'm guessing we'll be lucky to seem them play at even 80%. MLS players tend to go all out in these things to prove themselves and they are already in their mid-season, so I wouldn't be surprised at all to see MLS win.

    I WISH!!!

Maybe one of these days I'll be fortunate enough to catch an Arsenal match LIVE, but it will have to be when they come to Seattle, and if I can get time off from work to do it, I work 4:30-6:30=7:00 pm M-F at a veterinarian clinic (Oak Bay Animal Hospital) in nearby Port Hadlock, WA, just 10 miles from here in Port Townsend, but in the meantime, have a great time down in the Bay Area and also in my old-stomping grounds down in SoCal and don't forget your smartphones to get some video footage and maybe some selfies and action shots, and COYF'n'G!!!

Don't count on them coming to Seattle any time soon. Shoot, you can't even really count on them coming back to USA on a reliable basis. (they skipped us for for 25yrs before the last match at NYRB) So get your butt down to Calif to see them! ;)

No worries, glad you were able to sell them. I am keeping an eye on stub hub, they have come down quite a bit over the past week so we may wind up going after all.

Anyone on here doing any pre-game meet up or anything?

seeing that roster got me stoked all over again.

Watching Arsenal at such a small, intimate stadium is going to be so beautiful

Will it feel like Dean Court (Vitality Stadium for sponsorship reasons) in Bournemouth does??? That facility barely holds 11,000 strong, Avaya Stadium in San Jose holds just about 2,000-3,000 more (about 15,000 capacity), while StubHub Center (formerly Home Depot Center) down in Carson can hold about 30,000-35,000 fans. StubHub will probably feel more like (from what vintage footage I've seen on YouTube and on my Arsenal DVDs) 1995-2006 Highbury used to (35,000 seated in the post-Hillsborough/Taylor Report era)

Let's see who draws the bigger crowds, I'll bet with the strong fanbase Arsenal have here in the States that the Gunner Nation will be very well represented, I'll venture that there will be more Gooners than spectators, and on TV this will probably draw better Nielsen ratings than MLS All-Star games in the past, so COYF'n'G!!!

P.S.: I will be recording the All-Star match (and possibly the Chivas match as well, depending on whether or not it will be on TV as well) onto DVD-Rs with my DVD recorder, knowing that history will be made, who knows how long it will be before The Gunners return to the States???

There is an Arsenal Fan Party on Wednesday, they are not normally meet and greet type events or signings, but more like a panel show. The main meetup point for traveling Gooners is Jack's Bar, I'm sure it will be packed the night before and the day of the game.
