As National Team is without DT, I thought it'll be interesting to know who is most supported candidate on our forum. Hope, I didn't miss any names in the poll. My choice is Simeone :)

Anyone who will not put Pipita on his squad list.

We should have won last 3 major tournaments without that guy.

I would imagine that we need to hurry. Our first WCQ in the new season is against Uruguay Sept. 1st.

So, is it Bielsa? When will Fifa's team complete their activities?

Why does anyone want Bielsa to be the DT? Firstly, there is still no AFA, but even if there were, what would Bielsa bring?

He is an unpredicatable lose cannon. He walked out on Lazio after 2 days before even coaching one training session. He walked out on Marseille after 1 match the year before. He walked out on Argentina in the middle of world cup qualifying in 2004.

He is completely inflexible. He plays his system and he doesn't alter anything. In the 2010 World Cup, he refused to make any changes in personnel nor in tactics when Chile played Brazil. The result was the most predicable in world cup history: Brazil destroyed Chile just as they had in the qualifiers. You can't play the same way against Bolivia at home as you do against Germany in the world cup.

In 2002, he refused to play both Bati and Crespo. Various people have criticized him for having chosen Bati over Crespo... Why not play them both together? They could have done this. Crespo played most of his career with another #9... Schevshenko at Milan, Salas at Lazio, Zlatan at Inter... There was no reason not to throw them both on against England and Sweden.

What I don't like about Bielsa is that he never plays with a central playmaker, thus someone like Riquelme in the past had no chance. I wonder if the same will happen to Pastore or Paredes.

But his teams play great, attractive soccer.

....and Crespo actually scored minute after he came in against Sweden. One more goal we're actually through and England would be out.

He also quit after winning Olympic and won qualifier match. Yea, unpredicatable. But he kinda left with highnote by winning something for the youth team. Although I wouldnt want him as NT manager for second time.

At first I was excited about Bielsa being the coach again, but not so much anymore haha. Considering Simeone and Sampaoli are probably unrealistic at this point, who do you like? What about Almeyda? Read something on Ole that he has a clause that he could leave his team if an offer for the Seleccion comes in.

I'd love to have Diego as manager assistant, he doesnt have management knowledge, but would be make a great motivator. The problem though, no way he wants to be a right hand man. He'd want to be in full charge like in 2009-2010 and he's proven to be volatile person.

Diego has just said that he will coach Argentina for free.

Please hope that this does not happen.

Yet, he quit back then right after winning Olympic and qualifier game, claiming he didnt have the energy anymore.

I think Bielsa's contract ended after the 04 Olympics. He didn't want to do another cycle. I can't blame the man, being the manager of a NT for 6 years is a long time. If he becomes the DT, it sure as hell would be better than the last 4 out of 5 managers we had, Basile, Diego, Batista and Tata.

It will be interesting to see what is going to happen, we should know soon, we have qualifiers that kickoff in a little over a month.

Now Fernando Marin saying they want Simeone to take over Argentina part-time, while also coaching Atletico Madrid.

Our qualifier is September 1st, so I would imagine we need to hurry up.

How can there be so many different rumors? I guess that's what happens when nobody is actually in charge.

Look at all these rumors surrounding me everyday...(Great song BTW)).

Seriously though, I fail to even read reports of so-called rumors, especially
if they're coming from the world of social media. The only reason they're out there is because it gives people something to read or discuss. It's summer time people, click bait is in high season.

We should be getting a manager soon or even an interim until we find the new manager which could be early 2017.

    People need to just wait.
