Which prompted me to go back and calculate to the day. So revised (calculated for ages to the day on Aug. 3):

    Brazil: 27.57
    China: 25.10
    South Africa: 25.78
    Sweden: 26.79
    Australia: 24.18
    Canada: 26.04
    Germany: 27.25
    Colombia: 24.84
    France: 27.39
    New Zealand: 26.48
    USA: 27.82

And after that...Wow! Brazil, Germany, France, and USA are very close in average ages.

Australia, while young in age, have some experienced players who've been together for awhile. Many of them got their first caps very young. Contrast that with the US that while the oldest roster in age includes actually quite a few Olympic newbies.

But didn't Japan miss one Olympics...2000 maybe?

Congrats to Sawa though on the baby!

Yes, you're right, but she could've carried on anyway to Tokyo 2020! (Lol, joking :p)

Jokes apart, in Japan it's considered quite as a given that she will be involved anyway in the organization commitee for Tokyo 2020 and she openly expressed interest in that.

Now, @lil_one, if only you can put together a list of the average age of the STARTING players. That would be an interesting stat to see. Of course, I'm partly kidding as I know the work you put in for the initial exercise was a lot.
