Very unlikely, but could a player like Bale, Aguero, or Hazard. That would qualify as madness.

One player I've always liked who could actually be available: Isco.

Not a typical winger, but I bet he could work in that role like Nasri.

Well , with ManU getting Pogba, IMO their squad is the best in the EPL. Oh boy.

I don't think so. There is still massive questions to be asked across that backline and in midfield. They've made quality additions, but I still don't think they've addressed the root problems of that team. Maybe that's just my take on it. I personally believe these moves are going to backfire, but time will tell.

I've never been more excited for an EPL season. Every game should be a war. Klopp, Mourinho, Conte, Wenger, Guardiola. Wow. It's going to be intense, and someone is going to fail by default because not all of these teams can get top 4 (nevermind Leicester, Spurs, Everton, etc).

I think Pogba will be like another Yaya Toure in the league. Great player, but great players can be overcome. Zlatan is ancient and hasn't faced a league this challenging in a long time, if ever. He won't find it as easy as banging them in on PSG's all-star team. As for Mkhi, he'll be good, but he's not Ronaldo/Messi. He's a good player. Not dominant.

I wouldn't hand the trophy to United just yet. It's going to be tough for everyone, or at least it should be.

    Just a hunch, it's Benzema.

There's only a few transfers that would qualify as a "madness" and this fits. Wenger probably figures that there's low competition for him and that he can drive the fee substantially down given the (how to put this?) "complicated" nature of his off-field legal problems. Wenger might be willing to roll the dice on a player who many probably view as currently damaged goods given Wenger's short time horizon.

Given that we were after a one-hit wonder with some off-field issues of his own in Vardy, Wenger is clearly in a gambling mood.

Suits Real as they might be looking to offload both Morata and Benzema in order to bring in Lewandowski.

To me Man City will be pretty exciting to watch. I will just be excited for EPL teams to be up there amongst the best in the world again. Hoping an English team wins the CL for years to come (obviously I prefer Arsenal).

I seriously doubt we go after Benzema - he might be in jail!

Doubt it. Their forwards are good, but their midfield has serious question marks, their backline is bad, and it's a matter of time before De Gea goes to Madrid.

You may be right. I'd say the greatest possibility is that this falls apart and we have no idea who the player was.

Isco is on his way out at Real. Doubt it would be him though, would not qualify as madness.

United had the best defensive record in the league and DDG is on record this summer that he wants to captain United.

Well, they can do it for a while but they are selling entertainment and at some point you either have to win or at least look like it. Fans understand that it's competition and you can't win all the time. What fans can't understand is the repeated failure to address glaring deficiencies while sitting atop a pile of cash. Top that shit-sandwich with some pretty dross footy and you've got your fan-apathy starting to kick in.

I think a club that has as many fans and a as large a revenue as we do should conservatively expect to challenge for a title 2-3 times every decade. Of those, if some winds are in your favor you win one. That should have been us last season. The winds were never as favorable yet we only bought a keeper last summer and sat on the cash.

How do you define "challenge"? Arguably, Arsenal already challenge for the title every year just by virtue of being perennial top 4.

Ya, it will be a mou squad though. He now has a very good squad with the additions of mhki, zlat, pogba plus shaw is back and I wouldn't be surprised if Jose grabs another DM or CB once the dominos start to fall.

Lots of guys will be leaving Turkey in the wake of the failed coup attempt.

Mario Gomez stated today he wants out.

Would van Persie qualify as a "madness"?

    Definitely not.

I'd take either guy as a veteran backup.

I don't know that either would be content in that role though, given that they likely harbor some 2018 WC ambitions despite their advanced ages.

So I think we can confidently say that Higuain, Icardi, Griezzman, Lewandowski, Morata, Benzema and any other big name striker are not coming here. The past 2 weeks show why guys like Mkhitaryn would rather go to Man U than to Arsenal.

I wonder if it's Jese. There have been reports about his jersey being taken out of the Madrid team shop. Also Zizou is dropping strong indications that he's not in the first team plans this year.

With the most prescriptive manager in the league.

Arsenal's back line is routinely derided despite having the third best defensive record with the least prescriptive manager.

I think it's fair to question United's defensive personnel. Just deal with it.

I think United's defense was good last year but they played very safe. To minimize risks. I don't see Mourinho coming in and switching everything up either, he's just not that adventurous of a manager.

Pogba helps in midfield but he's so overrated, if they think he's solving all their problems, they have an expensive rude awakening coming
Ibra, of course helps at ST.
Armenian guy whose name is too much to bother with, helps creatively.

Honestly think thats enough for them to win the league with no Europe.

I think Madrid will sell Jese at some point, but if we're going by the "madness" quote then I don't think that fits. Jese is even less of a big name than Isco.
