Whoops. Originally he was gonna be the subject of his own thread but then I thought I'd post here first -- and cut/pasted, forgetting to add his name. Edited to fix.
Did a search, nothing came up for this kid. Possible U18 #usynt RB starting for Stuttgart https://t.co/EFegglU9WK— Joey (@USAprospects) April 5, 2016
Lamar Yarbrough, a '96 with a lower-division German club, is called American by T-markt. http://www.sportfreunde-schwaebischhall.de/index.php?id=118
Check the thread about him maybe? http://forums.bigsoccer.com/threads/toni-suddoth-at-stuttgart.1976222/#post-33759854
Transfermarkt says Osnabrueck '99 Finn Holznagel is German-American. http://www.transfermarkt.com/finn-holznagel/profil/spieler/393520 https://www.fupa.net/spieler/finn-holznagel-546611.html http://www.vfl.de/junioren-lz/teams/u17.html
Here's a Google link with some potential sources/Google searches for those of you with too much time on your hands. Suggestions/edits welcome. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/16zZzus-m2xHEAg_HZepbkclVioYzQUwdS6eab972Sw4/edit?usp=sharing
A Portuguese site says a player named Ayodeji Jotham Adeniran, a '92, is a Nigerian-American from Texas. He seems to have been at a lower-division club in Portugal this past season. http://www.foradejogo.net/player.php?player=199207090006 http://su1dezembro.com/seniores/plantelsn.html Could be this guy: http://aamusports.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=1329&path=msoc May have played in Malta. http://www.allnigeriasoccer.com/read_news.php?nid=13006
Transfermarkt says a '97 named Santiago Rodriguez playing for Estudiantes de San Luis in Argentina is American, but I think that may be an error. He's apparently from Arizona, but there is also a place called Arizona in San Luis in Argentina.
Transfermarkt says a '97 named Ruben Dario Morales who just moved from SV Meppen's youth teams to the second team is American. http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ruben-dario-morales-jr-/profil/spieler/379762 FuPa does not say that: http://www.fupa.net/spieler/ruben-dario-morales-757673.html This page links him with a few youth clubs in the U.S.: http://www.jugendleistungszentrum-emsland.de/73-Spieler.html The club's first team is in the fourth division.
Here's a '98 named Patrick Kistler who is apparently (or recently was) at SG Schwyz/Ibach in Switzerland and may have been born in the U.S., assuming "Denville" is the one in New Jersey. http://www.transfermarkt.com/patrick-kistler/profil/spieler/344148 http://www.fcibach.ch/uploads/mediamanager/pages/files/mk2016.pdf
Transfermarkt says Claudio Torrejon of FC Banants in Armenia is Peruvian-American. http://fcbanants.am/banants_squad.html http://www.transfermarkt.com/claudio-torrejon/profil/spieler/168974
Any G2 on this gentleman?: Daniel Abarca Tyler, TX 19 years old Played HS in Tyler + Tyler JC This (in Spanish) says he is on the roster of Chivas U20s: http://www.alianzadefutbol.com/nota.php?id=721&titulo=un-texano-para-el-arco-de-chivas.php I couldn't confirm anything on citizenship for the fellow and he doesn't appear to have any USSDA ties.
Laverty is now listed as German-American on a couple of sites, including FuPa. He's at Augsburg, with the second team. http://www.fcaugsburg.de/cms/website.php?id=/index/nachwuchs/uebergangsbereich_u23.htm http://www.fupa.net/spieler/benedict-laverty-783499.html
FuPa has an '04, which is about a million decades after I was born, named Domenic-Shawn Davis as moving to FC Kaiserslautern for this season. http://www.fupa.net/spieler/domenic-shawn-davis-915119.html
Not an American. His rather complete Spanish language wikipedia page says that he's from Arizona, San Luis.
No citizenship confirmation. All I get is that he's originally from Tyler. No actual confirmation on his being born there though it seems likely.
Logging here because often people who moved here from the part of the world acquired citizenship due to refugee status -- though articles I found and a YouTube that appears to be his don't indicate citizenship: The 2012 Waterloo West graduate [HARIS HADZALIC] has signed a one-year contract with MFK Fryek-Mistek soccer club in the Czech Republic, a team he’s been training with since the start of the month. ... Born in Cazin, Bosnia, in 1993, two years prior to the end of the Bosnian War, soccer provided Hadzalic an escape from the postwar struggles many in his country faced. http://wcfcourier.com/sports/soccer...cle_38bda475-e858-5577-ac8d-8adccb73c0b2.html http://www.mountmercymustangs.com/roster/12/6/3040.php
I was over in the "English players Dual Nationality thread", and one poster says it's possible that Tottenham U-18 and England U-17 attacking midfielder Samuel Shashoua has an American connection through his father. http://www.tottenhamhotspur.com/first-year-academy/samuel-shashoua/ I can't find any proof yet, but it is possible he's related to this man who settled in New York in 1958 and whose business career was originally in England: http://www.nytimes.com/1964/12/11/stanley-shashoua-68-head-of-importexport-firms.html This other man from New York could be a descendant of the family (regardless of whether or not Samuel is): https://www.linkedin.com/in/stanley-shashoua-0b849a34 Samuel does follow New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham on Twitter, the only American athlete or figure he follows: https://twitter.com/Sam_shash/following This is all extremely speculative on my part, I realize.
FuPa has an '01 at TSV Gau-Odernheim named Jamal McCaslin as American. http://tsv1881.de/fussball/junioren/c1-junioren/kader-c1-junioren/ http://www.fupa.net/spieler/jamal-mccaslin-948392.html
On the roster at FC Ibach: http://www.fcibach.ch/teams/cmsteams/rosterdisplay/team_id/2262/cs_id/3826/category/389
Given he was born in Mexico, I can't say with 100% certainty that he's a citizen but it's clear his ties to the U.S. are very strong. He's a GK with Real Zamora; this article calls him "Israel" and his full name is Efraín Israel Baeza Cruz: The 24-year-old soccer player was born in Guadalajara, Mexico, but moved to Missouri as a child when his father, Efraín, took over pastoral duties at First Hispanic Baptist Church of Sedalia. Baeza returned to Mexico in January to train with the Real Zamora soccer club after a call from its athletic director. ... Baeza was goalkeeper for Warrensburg High School his freshman, junior and senior years and graduated in 2009. He played one season at Maple Woods-MCC before playing on the Sporting Kansas City U-18 youth academy and eventually training with MLS club, Sporting KC. ... “I was coming back every two months or so, and it was kind of expensive,” Baeza said. “But, then again, my goal coming here is to come back to Kansas City and play. That’s really my ultimate goal. Get minutes here, maybe get noticed here. And I have a good relationship with the people in Kansas City.” http://sedaliademocrat.com/sports/15287/sedalian-footballer-at-home-with-real-zamora A '92: http://sub20.ligamx.net/cancha/jugador/93291
