Agree, and I could not believe how we missed so many PK in 2000 after 1998 semi final PK loss to Brazil. Rijkaard should have hold a PK seminar right after the WC. We did not exercise PK ghost until 2004. It is interesting that some journalist or perhaps the German coach pointing out that the veterans missed and the young players scored. Factors may be the combination of mentality + fitness. I usually want to see game decided in regular or extra time, not PK (the only exception was the WC 2010 final where I was hoping us getting to PK).
ESPN reported that Hiddink is interested in England job (http://www.espnfc.us/england/story/...nts-talks-with-fa-over-england-vacancy-report). He is also linked to Russia. Imagine if he fails to lead England to Russia (and after those blame on Van Gaal), England may invade Netherlands for revenge. Hiddink and Van Gaal (64 and 69 respectively) should retire when they are on top (or near the top). They are hanging on too long.
Didn't the Dutch already exact revenge on England some centuries ago when William and Mary ruled the country in the late 17th century?
No offence WB, but you might wanna change that to 4 World Cups. Unless you're still sore about 1966 and counting that one as #5
Yep, I posted it in another thread that we punished the English for being too cocky with the Chatham raid ( http://www.historien.nl/de-tweede-engelse-oorlog-de-tocht-naar-chatham/) and made them some time later a Province of the Republic ofthe United Provinces.
Boring football as usual. What a shame these portuguese team. I enjoy much more a Nec-Nac than this game. Where is Bernardo Silva ? He's ten times better than these portuguese players who are on the pitch.
I'm sorry, but this thread title made me laugh out loud! Personally, I was disappointed you didn't qualify though. That was clear as day.
Don't forget that the Pope is accountable and responsible for mass pedophilia, as well as the ratlines to South America
Agreed. He was good only against Hungary in group stage. However he showed up when it mattered vs Croatia (assist), Poland (PK) and Wales (scored and assisted) and here they are in the 2nd final. They are not favourite which takes some pressure off. However, I believe that he and Portugal will be disappointed again in the final. They could have won in 04 and blew their chance. On the other hand, I have not seen one match that can be considered a classic Euro game. Overall the quality of the game is average so far. Is there any chance that Euro can change back from 24 to 16 teams now that UEFA has a new president?
Wow, totally dominated yet a penalty given. Can they hold the lead? I must say I am underwhelmed by the French performance so far.
Apparently Löw forgot to have a lesson and learn session after Italy match. That PK is the turning point. With Hummels, Khedira out and Boateng out during the match, it is too much for Germany. Now it is France' title to lose.
With this talent, France can play better. Give them Low and his backroom staff, and they are invincible (with varane and Benzema). It is not as seamless as it can be.
