has Messi been in more finals than Maradona now?

Messi has been to 3 Copa finals, and 1 WC final.

    Maradona 2 WC finals.

you made good point Hollywood... but Messi himself wasnt without chances in 2014 final and this one. He had a shot from close range went slightly wide, had a freekick from good position... his teammate also got their chances.. how many chances do you expect in tournament final... its always rare, that's why strong mentallity is needed and its what missing from our players.

Messi is in 3 Copa finals. But those are team achievement not one player. Otherwise, Ruggeri has won WC, 2 CA and 1 Confederation... also in 2 WC finals. He won league title with 4 different club and has won Libertadores, Intercontinental etc. Based on that, he's better than Masche, Diego and Messi put together.

I've been strolling around the forums here and it seems that messi's crying pics are going viral and are being trolled by mostly haters, madrid and portugal fans.

He has shown courage, lifted his team to the final in several occasions and has shown complete discipline and determination. He just couldnt take it anymore and the weight on his shoulders was more than what he could bear. He was in complete shambles and the tears were just flooding.

To be frank with you my eyes were flooded with tears when I saw that scene. Messi is loved by so many people here in Kuwait (middle east) and a role model for so many young footballers. They all want to grow up and be like messi. I've literally watched every match for lio since 2005 and the talent that he posesses, the impact that he has on games is unquestionable.
Our jaws dropped when he was transformed by pep into that famous false 9 position in the 6-2 classico match.
To me he is the greatest of all time without any doubt but ppl still question this because he certainly under achieved with the national team eventhough he was so close in several occasions.

We go to work, go on with our lives, we get stressed with so many life issues ,but when lio is playing tonight everything is fine. He brings joy and happiness whenever the ball is glued to his feet, So Thank you Messi for all the great moments that you brought to us countless times.

I hope you'll be back and I sincerely hope that you'll lift that trophy in 2018.

I 'm not exactly surprise or take those thing seriously, that just the way internet is.... if its CR or England fail or any other famous person or team, they'll reacted the same way. Troll is a troll. Messi is best player on the planet so anything he does matters alot , otherwise it wont stir any reaction.

Think about people making fun of Barca getting thrashed by Bayern... everybody's laughing , but they came back with another treble.

Messi retired so he can skip qualifier and meaningless friendlies. On the top of all that, to let the world knows what kind of joke AFA is.

I'm sure he likes Maradona (as a player anyway, I always have to make the distinction personally), the point is just that he wasn't some perfect guy who was always playing at a higher level than Messi and thus has earned the right to criticize everything. And it's also more of a point about the Maradona worshippers, who just like Peron worshippers, completely ignore the negatives to push their cult of personality.

Cassius Clay, otherwise known as Muhammad Ali, was even bigger than his.

the distance between players is interesting

If that was Barca you can bet there would 4 or 5 players close by

Chile actually had two chances, the header by Vargas and before that the shot by Alexis that Funes Mori saved with the sliding clearance.

Five players on Messi, that means four Argentine players must be free. Why didn't he pass the ball to someone in a dangerous position?

Yeah at least on that particular play he could have gotten to, Mercado is it? Or Aguero. Hard to tell on that picture. I posted during the second half of the game that he had the blinders on and it must have been after that play. He was trying to do too much. Unfortunately that's what happens when guys like Higuain blow their chances.

Its Aguero, even the commentator was completely puzzled by Kun decision to shoot instead passing it to Mercado who's totally unmark.

Ok two chances... Aguero alone has 3 chances. 2 shots to the sky, 1 brilliantly saved by Bravo. Messi and Higuain has a few too.

We have 3 one on one chances against Germany, Messi also has a freekick near the end, also his header went slightly over the crossbar. Also, early in the game there's one occassion where Messi run passed Hummels like he wasnt a factor... but nobody was there when he squared the ball to the center. All I can say, these guys just fckin wasted every opportunity in every final.

Yes, after I wrote that, I told myself, should have put Muhammad Ali there, because someone will call me on it. ;)

According to Atleti's president, AFA have contacted him for the services of Simeone & he rejected. Idk if they can contact Cholo directly.

What will they pay Cholo with? Sperms? That's the only thing they have millions of.

There is zero chance of this. Not until the sleaze is removed from the AFA.

He and Pochettino as I once mentioned a few years ago should have been earmarked for the u20 and senior team management. If millions upon millions had not been tucked away in Switzerland then a decent organization could have offered both the required contracts to keep them with Argentina and all the support they would have asked for.

Instead we export our coaches abroad to the benefit of our opponents. Magnificent magnanimity.

I would like to offer my candidacy. After all Humberto Grondona coached the u20's. If he can do it so can I.
