Italy through to the semifinals. Yes, you read that correctly because Germany have NEVER beaten Italy at a major tournament. On the other hand I say it's high time Germany end the Curse of Italy once and for all.

Another factor is Italy r a couner attack team, Germany need to have a anchor behind kroos khedira, shweiny for me doesn't have the legs no more

Play the same 11 that played vs slovakia, playing schweini instead of an attacker will make our attack weaker and given how good italy is defensively it will suit them. Spain attack was slow and they played just like the italians wanted. We should play more direct and faster, to not give them a chance to line up their defence as they want.
I think its finally time to beat the itallians unless low overthinks it and does something stupid

so Thiago Motta is the only player that will miss this game.
I so hope we beat them and finally end our curse as well as revenge for the last Euro where they beat us.

History may favor Italy and it will be a contentious match for sure.....but as good as Italy has looked, Germany is in great form as well and should win. Germany won 4-1 in the last friendly too - some extra confidence there.

Why 3-5-2? Doesn't that play right into the Italians' hands with their 3-man back line? I think we need to play a 4-3-3 of some sort, whether it's with a double pivot like we've done so far, or with Schweini as a 6 behind Kroos and Khedira. Force their back 3 to choose whether to triple-team Gomez or to defend 1-on-1 with our front 3 while their wing backs are occupied with Hector and Kimmich.

Would have rather got revenge on ESP for 08/10.... they kicked our asses in those matches.

Wouldn't mind revenge for 2006, tougher match for me than 12

It is actually the only system that evens out Italy's system. Ive read an interview a few days ago with some old Italian veteran(i dont remember the name) and he said he is afraid of Germany now because Löw has finally understood that this is the only system to play Italy. You have to outbunker them and hit them on quick counters. Look up the first 3 goals from March. Sieging them is risky as shown today and vs Belgium

Spain did not kick our asses in those matches
Euro 08, a miss communication between Lahm and Lehmann allowed Torres to score
WC 10, a corner kick goal header from Puyol

so basically Spain were unable to really beat us decisively.

but can't say the same about Italy...
