It seems that in Finals, the pressure always gets to Argentina.. if you noticed, during the Group stage, Argentina defeated Chile With Out Messi.. but in the final they struggled to beat Chile With Messi on the field. What this tells me, is that it's all Mental.. meaning Argentina can't think straight, during Finals.

Congrats to Chile on winning. I felt that the game was crap while watching it, and it was crap until the end. I hope this ref never gets to officiate an international game again.

Again, congrats to the Chilean players

By saying that Argentina struggles in the finals, you are diminishing Chile performance. Argentina lacked creativity because Chile defense was great.
Is not that Argentina was bad, they were great and they created chances, it was that Chile had guevos in the final and they have a good team. Also you need to consider that when Rojo got the red card, Mascherano had to play in the defensive line, no more in the mid.

Yes this is true.. Chile played Great! I'm not denying that.. but you also can't deny that Argentina always Chokes on finals.. seriously, just look at that EASY CHANCE that Higuain missed. The pressure got to them..

What counts is the final . A few weeks before the Copa America Mexico beat chile in a friendly and in last Copa America with our b team beat chile in their home I believe . then they come out and 7-0 us out of nowhere. Asi es el fútbol .Maybe their coach Pizi is a genius and in the pre importante matches made opponents think his tema was weaker than it was .

Chile destroyed the dreams of Mexico Colombia and nos they are making Messi and Argentina retire .

Yes I agree, what counts is the final.. but Mexico's B team never beat Chile.. they tied 3-3 .. apparently Mexico B was stronger than Mexico A team

I dont know man, they lost last final against a incredible good German team, and last Copa America against Chile but it was in Chile... now this Chile team is more mature...

I dont see Argentina as having a bad final, I just see a reaaaly good Chilean team, who is mature not scared of anyone and prepared for next world cup.

Also Argentina is been lacking a quality mid since Veron retired and Mascherano was playing as a defender, while Chile have aggurably the best CM of the world.

Alexis also played the game of his life, everytime outruned Argentina defense, he was Incredible.
Like I said, Argentina wasnt bad, Chile was really really good.

South America is not just Brazil Argentina and Uriguay anymore

    This.

I'd even go as far as saying its one of the best South American teams of all time outside the big 3, if not the best.

Argentina was slightly below par, but just due to nerves. They didn't look a worse side than other matches. Just the quality of the opponent was different.

Chile themselves did not play at their best either..Sanchez injury, Medel mistake, some nerves etc.

I think most Argentina fans know that if they play at their best they can beat Chile. I can say that because I am a neutral here so it's not sour grapes.

Argentina has slightly more talent, but Chile has been slightly better mentally and in team work, and maybe in luck.

The fact of the matter is that in the last 4 competitive meetings, two played in Chile, and two on neutral grounds, Argentina have won two, and two have been draws. That is pretty clear. If you exclude penalty shoot outs, Argentina are the best side in South America.

Just have lacked a little luck and/or a little bottle.

Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay have all had teams better than this Chilean side, but outside of those 3, no one's been able to win back to back Copa America's. They've achieved so much, all they need to do now to complete the generation is to go far in a World Cup.

Argentina lost 100% because of psychology. I think the fans are toxic.

Most countries would kill to get a player like Messi playing for them . The way Messi is treated by native countrymen is appalling

To me something that foreshadowed the Argentine tragedy was how Chile played with one man down for about 20 minutes yet never lost control. They stepped back a bit but their game was not drastically changed and Argentina failed to capitalize in those crucial minutes. And Rojo thinks he can be a hot head like he has earned that right, complete donkey who needs to be jettisoned from the NT.

The irony of you critiquing Higuain for chocking on this game while your avatar is of Baggio is not escaping me. . . ;)
