IF Jogi does that , just cause we beat them (Italy) a few weeks back with a 352 , would not be advisable I think...if he is smart he would rather react after 30 minutes if his game plan is not working out and change the formation, but to start of with I would say no.
    --Howedes---Boa---Hummels----
    Kimmich----------------------Hector
    ---Schweinie----Oezil-------Kroos
    --------Muller----------Draxler
not so sure.......Our defence has been solid to change it now would not be a good idea... I would rather upgrade the midfield as said above with Schweinie, Kroos and Khedira taking control of the central midfield.

If there is anything I wouldn´t do against either Italy or Spain, it´s changing our usual tactics and our way of playing. That was EXACTLY what Loew did in 2010 against Spain and in 2012 against Italy, and it worked our very well as we all know. I say: the opponent has to adapt to us. Not the other way around.

Löw doesnt do it because it worked months ago. He does it cause that is the only way to beat them. At least he thinks it is. That is why the 3-5-2 has been trained in the last two years in the first place. That is why it was used in the friendlies vs Spain and Italy. There was no other reason as for this upcoming game and that "we could be running into the Spain and Italians in the Euros".
They werent prepared when they did it back then. That has changed obviously. Kroos at RM was unheard of

Kroos suddenly appeared at RM vs Italy in 2012. That is what I was refering to.

    Italy plays a 3-1-4-2 and Spain a 4-3-2-1-
Possession and controlling the midfield will be vital.....

These guys say we played a 2-4-2-2..... Same goes for against Slovakia...
Wonder if that would work against a Spain......

    You bring up good points.

We shouldn't try to do drastic changes like we did before and play reactive to our opponents. Let THEM react to us instead.

Play the best players possible that has gotten to this point and let the chips fall where they may.

I'm not a fan of the 3 CB lineup. Germany should set out to control the match IMO, not bunker up and hope for the best.

I'd go with this from here on out.

Let Draxler and Müller have the freedom to interchange and interpret the attacking space behind Gomez as they see fit, and create goal scoring opportunities like we saw against Slovakia.

Fullbacks will get out wide, Draxler and Müller can drift out as well if/when they need to, but Draxler/Müller's main role will be creative use of space behind Gomez.

Khedira, Kroos, and Schweinsteiger to control and lockdown the midfield so that Germany allow fewer opportunities on the counter and dominate the match against better opponents.

    ----------------Gomez
    ---------Draxler<-->Müller
    ---------Khedira------Kroos
    -----------Schweinsteiger
    Hector-Hummels-Boateng-Kimmich
    -----------------Neuer

Also last time Germany won 3-0 at Euros was 1996 , as well as complete the first round with out conceding a goal. Ohhh in 1996 they also lost a few players due to injury before the tournament!

I like this but dont think oezil will be left out the team.... In that case oezil should replace Gomez, espcially against Spain where we need our own players who are good on the ball.

The top three can still interchange all over the show, as well as Khedira, Schwinie and Kroos

76 and 92? Matches from 40 years ago and 24 years ago don't have any relevance today.

Hoeneß is still getting called out on the first loss and in 92 my father was in a Biergarten, he went to get a Maß and when he came back Denmark had scored two times. Ive heard the story a thousand times

    Case in point.

Of course it's been used, but as the generic term for team and not as a nickname like La Furia Roja, Black Stars, etc.

Nothing surpring if you've seen his Bayern performances. He plays like he's had ten years of experience. This guy is destined for greatness.

I rated Kimmich, but it was uncertain to me how he'd play RB. I was surprised to see him adapt so well as a makeshift RB, to the point where he looks like he played it his whole career. I'm just taken aback by his crazy amounts of composure and ability to make whatever position he's playing his own, whether its CDM, RB, or CB.
