I think it was one of those where the ref decides to give a yellow card without realizing it's a second, then regrets it, but it's too late.
Colombia playing better with 10 than with 11 If it werent for those 15 first brilliant minutes by Chile, this would be a really even match
Quality is a bit hit and miss and not convinced we can blame the wet pitch for all of it. Some of it's just bad decision making.
Colombia are showing some heart, but not enough quality. They have been hard done by with decisions in the second half, but probably shouldn't complain too hard at the end if it stays 2-0 at the end, even without the sending off, and getting the penalty, and converting it, would have been 2-1 down. Only really the first 20 minutes of this match was entertaining, the rest rather a drawn out anti-climax, not quite what we hoped for.
The rain and pause ruined the good football by both sides. Ref didn´t call a clear penalty vs Colombia then ate one vs Chile. Also, the red for Colombia was fair. Tough opponent as expected, well played Colombia.
You have to be a really strict ref to put that yellow and this ref until that point wasnt very strict, he just gave him a yellow because he didnt knew Sanchez already had a yellow. However is hard to expect refs to keep it consistent
True, but to me the fact that he forgot he had a yellow shows that it was indeed a yellow. Ive seen yellows for less. Anyway, its over and done. Hope Conmebol keeps third place too.
