That was stupid Seijas. Venezuela gifting the match first with a mistake on the second goal and then this stupid penalty shit. Imagine going to half time with a 2-1, we'd have a match. But no.
Seijas what an idiot. Had a chance to take it to 2-1 before half time but tried to be fancy with his penalty. Romero didn't even have to work for it. As for Venezuela overall, their defence is letting them down. Attacking wise, they've been great. Rondon is unplayable. If they keep this up in the second half, I'm sure they'll score.
About the pen, you are being a bit too harsh some of you. Those pens always look terrible the 1 or 2 in 10 times the keeper stays put, 8 or 9 out of 10 he guesses a dive and it floats in. When that happens the commentators and punters say what a great pen it was. But a shame because they had 15-20 minutes of good play and a goal had been coming. However with that, and the error for the 2nd goal, they have blown it. However apart from those moments they have looked still a respectable side. I doubt Argentina will go for a big score, if they get 3 or more up it will be more important to sub players off and conserve energy. I would start subbing off Messi and 1 other key player if they get 3 up. Or maybe Venezuela will fight back still. But, you can't see them winning it now. It just feels like it's not going to be their day.
If you are going to do the Paneka, 3 suggestions: 1. Study the keepers: of the last 20 pens, how many has he stayed put. 2. The other thing is, make sure you aren't giving the game away with where you are looking or how you are shaping to hit it. 3. Is he standing still on the line and staring you out? Or is he jumping up and down jittering his arms and legs about? I could be wrong but I'd guess more movement means more likely to guess a dive. I don't know if others agree (I could be wrong) but I get the sense that keepers stay put a little more these days than they used to. They shift one way or the other but don't commit fully to a dive until they have seen the flight of the ball. If I'm right, those type of pens could be less attractive these days.
