I used to enjoy going to check out the old figc.it website back in the day because it had an amazing photo gallery. They used to include photos from all of the under age teams, they also would show photos of the call ups and fitness tests. I remember seeing regular galleries of all the guys running like cross country. Does any one know if there are archives of this and do they do that currently cuz i cant find it on the website at all.
Ya I remember that site. Used to go on it around 2004-06. Got my news on it. I remember the gallery of the Italy Iceland friendly of Lippi's first game in charge. Italy wore black jerseys then to commemorate something but I forget. I always loved those shirts
weren't they dark navy not black?...also I thought they decided to use a 3rd shirt this particular time for Italy due to Iceland's colors being similar and that is was a friendly. funny as in a major tournament ( either WC or Euro ) I don't think we have ever worn a 3rd shirt was it really due to it commemorating something...I can't remember?
That looks pretty close to black to me. And they did it for a reason. Not because Iceland was close to Italy's colours.

Yeah in the end I think Puma was trying to test out a 3rd kit so they figured what better time to do it than in a friendly against a team that uses similar colors . they figured it would be a good opportunity to test it out. I liked the Navy 3rd kits myself even as a traditionalist but traditionalists would have been the hardest group to get acceptance of the 3rd kit from. Lol....do you remember when they took it waaaay back for the 2009 confederations cup and the brown shorts?....I definitely liked the shade of blue they brought back for the shirts though.
Oh ya. That light blue from like 30's or something and the giant crest. I loved those ones. Brown shorts not so much. That's actually one of my fav Italy shirts.
