We need to play as we did our last two games. USA isn't a very mentally strong team, so if we go down early that will be the end of all hopes and dreams. As long as we control the game and play our game I believe that we can take it.

    USA 1-1 Ecuador
Winner to score in extra time( more than likely USA)

Neither is Ecuador so it will all go down to who has the better mentality in my opinion.

Ah, mentality. Such an easily quantifiable metric. ;)

I have a gut feeling Zardes finally puts a shot on goal that goes in. I don't know why, I just do.
I also have a feeling Wood does a quick turn and score like he did against Costa Rica and similar to what the Peruvian did to Ecuador earlier in the tournament.

There is no extra time in the knockout stages other than the final game.

South American competitions always goes straight to penalties. Copa Libertadores, Copa Sudamericana and the Copa America is no exception.

Only the final in these competitions goes to extra time. Its the right way in my opinion. Extra time is pointless.

Ecuador are a much better team than the US but the US have a knack for finding ways to win, who knows how it'll end.

Ecuador until this recent WCQ campaign has been an awful team playing as visitors---even in Copa play what's the last time they made it beyond group stage? That 1st win in qualifiers vs Arg (no Messi) in Buenos Aires was an uncanny win (although well deserved). They also beat as visitors a poor Vzla side that was going down in flames but lost badly against Colombia in Barranquilla during the March qualifiers. They miss Caicedo although to be fair Enner is starting to look really dangerous again. All in all, very close match that I see either as a draw or loss for Ecuador. They are a physical team with lots of speed but the US can play toe to toe against that type of offense.

Pretty safe to say there won't be a draw tonite. ;) So that means you're calling for an Ecuador loss. :D

Technically, a spot kick shootout is a Draw statistically.

Anyone else gets annoyed by the ESPN Deportes Commentators ?
They make Mexico sound like the Germany of the American Continent lol, and who the f*** is Tecatico lol...I never heard of him till the tournament started and now they pretty much compare him to Ronaldo, the guy scored one goal and all of sudden he is world class... but according to them Clint Dempsey( who has 2 goals and in my opinion has played a good tournament so far) is just meh

Tecatico is better than Clint Dempsey to be fair

Not according to FIFA 16 lol.

In all seriousness Dempsey has had more influence this tournament than Chicharito and tecatito combined, he might not be world class but is our most reliable forward. And can we please talk about Bobby Wood? That kid will shine in a few years!!!

I've been going with the FS1 feed but I don't know who's worse because the Lalas, Fiore and Landon team are horrific. These "fun fact" stats....ridiculous. Tecatito did have a heck of a game vs Vzla.... and that goal was one of the best in the tourney.

I feel the keep Fiore on just to add a comedic tone to it lol, the guy is so articulate and passionate but he should just stick to Spanish television. And tecatico did have a good game, but there has been so many spectacular goals( to include the one from Venezuela during the same game) that I feel his wont make it to the top 10 by the time its all said and done , EXCEPT on ESPN Deportes which I'm sure will deem it the Goal of the Tournament.

well, they are surely going to be biased at ESPN. After all who else is going to use up all that crap that Jorge Ramos sells but all the latinos...:p
I'm all for a bit of humor but not during a sport broadcast every time they're on. I want good reporting, journalism, background stories, interviews....I mean if you're going to put Fiore as the 'funny side-kick' along with all his antics... Id rather go 'full retard' and put some nice looking eye candy

You need to watch more soccer. When its all said and done though, Hirving Lozano may be the best player in a mexico uniform. Kid is going to be really good. Looking forward to seeing him play in europe soon...
