Massive game for both teams. The Slovakians need to get their game in order, they disappointed against the Welsh and have given themselves a real uphill task to advance. Make no mistake about it though, they have the quality to trouble the Russians.

The Russians are under tremendous pressure. Their first result was actually a good one, but the emphasis may actually be on matters not on the pitch. Crowd trouble and they'd be disqualified which would be a shame to have their progress impacted by issues beyond the players' control.

Have a feeling the Slovaks will win this match.

I'm watching. Know very little about the teams. I'll just leave it at that.

Weiss opens the scoring. Nice diagonal over the top to get behind the defense, then some good work to create an angle. Solid finish.

    1-0 Slovaks

Russia was caught napping. Hamsik makes them pay off a short corner.

2-0 on the cusp of HT

Great game by the Slovaks and Hamsik. First the great pass on the first goal, then the great 2nd goal.

Russia looks to make changes. Slovakia should get chances.

Russia score. Should be a great final 10 minutes.

Slovak keeper not a fan of catching - even when it's easier than the punch.

Whoa, this group is quite open and interesting now! Anyone can still finish 4th and its anyone's guess who will finish top of the group b/w Slovakia, England and Wales. Actually even Russia can still win the group although they look to be the weakest team.

Injuries to their midfield haven't helped. I'm not too familiar with the Russian NT but have talked to people who are and they all expected Russia to finish dead last in this group.

Of course, this is also worrying for England that they couldn't beat the weakest team that they will see in this tournament.

Yeah I felt for them missing three key starters in Zhirkov, Dzagoev and Denisov. They have not impressed.

Very happy for the majestic performance for Marek Hamsik, always felt he has been hugely underappreciated. Fantastic player, one of the best creative midfielders in Europe for the last 5 plus seasons.
