So brazil just got eliminated by a goal with a hand. Maybe they finally fire Dunga and introduce technology to soccer officiating. Win Win if u ask me.
No Mark Geiger, No party! EL mote De ratones verdes comes To mind. On a positive note hoy chupo Doble. ... and the best part is that Idc about the game, nor I'll be paying for the drinks. Win. win if you ask me Ps. My sincere Condolences to the resident mexican of the forum (illegal? Lol) @Popol Vuh
Anyone watching the final? The refereeing has been atrocious, it even reminded me of la liga Nacional. Me recordo of our own Ever Lopez lmfao
You know this is something I will never understand. People who wear and love NT teams more than their own. Foreign clubs I understand due to globalization. Heck, I won't even wear a US jersey even though I've been here for a long time. Don't get me wrong, I still want for them to do well but I won't lose sleep if they lose. Anyways, Chile wins again and I feel bad for messi. He seems to have a mental block with his NT, ronaldo too. I think this generation is best embodied by Higuain, who chokes when it matters. Also, I'm glad for chile. Even though I don't like many of its players you have to give credit where's due. It'd be simplistic to say que hoy gano el "colectivo" a las individualidades but it's kind of true. It's amazing the effect a game/team can have in the identity of a country. Ever since Uruguay beat Brazil in 1950 they never give up no matter the odds. Ever since Spain won the Euros they play like what they are...favorites. Or the mexico u17 in 2005. Ever since then, they come to the youth world cups with the knowledge and confidence of champions. I think that's what we need. A generation that could change our losing history and turn it around...
We had our opportunity and we effed it up and didn't take advantage of it.. the U20. Not only did we qualify for the first time ever, but we actually won a game too! We should have treated those kids like Gods and used them as motivation for bigger and better things. But what happened? All those players got pretty much buried on their club teams in favor of old extranjeros and now that ship has sailed. Sad.
Idk if treating them like gods would've made a difference, but we did failed to take advantage of the momentum created by that accomplishment . The ultimate goal of any youth team should be to create/discover players for the Senior NT. and due to lack of opportunities, stagnation, lack of ambition, etc, most of those players never made the transition. Anyways, anyone watching the Euros? I have a soft spot for Italy. They rarely dissapoint tactically and today le dieron Baile al campeon Spain. The Ger-Ita will be a great match. The Germans got the talent on their side but the Italians have the history in their corner. The king is dead, Long live the king!
Yeah watched both the Italy hand Iceland games.. great day of Footie! If Iceland can do what they're doing, surely there's hope for us right? RIGHT?!
I know dude, the Euros are finally picking up steam. Who do you think is gonna take it? For me it's Italy/France/Germany, basically whoever comes out alive of that side of the bracket. Anyways, what Iceland is doing is outstanding. But it's been a long time in the making. I remember I read somewhere that like 10-20 years ago they decided to built stadiums under domes because due to their weather, their youth only got to play/practice soccer during their brief summer. They also improved the local coaching at all levels and have the greatest # of qualified/licensed coaches per capita. Their player production has not only improved individually but tactically as well. The final step was adapting their "culture" (Honest, hard working, disciplined) and biotype (Tall, strong) to a playing style (sit deep, defensively solid, counter attack, set pieces, etc). Now they're exporting their players to great leagues like the BPL. And there are countless examples of countries like Belgium, Chile (this one was different tho), Germany (now they win with style). Which through hard work, smart changes and patience have completely shaped the fate of their NTs. So I still have hope that Guate can do something similar and improve. One can hope right?
So portugal is trying to pull a paraguay circa 2011. They're already in the semis without having won a game in 90 mins. Today they went to penalties and Cristi scored the 1st. Blaszczykowski didn't have the same luck so I'll be expecting his retirement from international footballing the coming hours

Christiana, really? Don't tell me you're one of those people. Anyways, yeah portugal gets a lot of hate cause of Ronaldo. Tbf, it's easy to hate him cause of his arrogance & tantrums. Though tbh I got nothing but respect for his dedication and single mindness to be the "best in the world". He's probably the player that has squeezed the most out his talent. How I wish our players had that drive. Also when you take into account que patea los penales Bajo los 3 palos, no se baja del barco cuando las cosas no salen y no evade taxes and he immediately becomes more likeable
I usually hate the arrogant players b/c i'm more of a "let my actions speak for me". But this guy gets mad props from me, as arrogant and cocky as he is, he can back it up. Although, this time around because he's playing so sh*tty, most fans are loving him struggle. Even the commentators make jabs at it.
