Coming in, a tie was an expected result.

Sucks that we were up 2-0 and that we're basically out of the tournament now, but aside from that... not terrible. Our B team tying the leaders in the qualifiers? Not the worst thing.

Good game. And good result for both sides makes the third game more exciting

The problem was winning haiti only by one Goal

Yup, but Brasil isn't invincible by any stretch so there's still a chance.

Ecuador must beat Haiti by two goals and then they clinch a QF spot against, most likely, Colombia.

The center backs for Peru, Ramos and Rodriguez, preserved the draw, they won every cross and made all the right tackles to stop Ecuador from scoring. Montero ass-raped the right back. Best match of the tournament so far.

Nothing wrong with the offense, the problem is at the back. Gareca has to find a couple of tough guys that command respect and don't let forwards receive the ball and turn around with impunity like Ecuadorians did today. You have to make them pay for it.
Looks like Gareca is on the right track... let him work please... I hope it works out... we need your beautiful football back, Perú.

worst part of the raping is that everyone knew it was going to happen

Revoredo is very very slow (emphasis on slow)

Rodriguez only mistake sadly led to the Ecuador goal...and subsequently began the Ecuador fightback

Now with the secound round of group B over there is a very realistic chance that 3 teams will end with 5 points:

If Ecuador beats Haiti (likely) theyll end up with 5 points
If Brazil and Peru tie (could happen) both of them will end up with 5 points

Of course in this case Brazil will end up first cause of their goal difference after their 7-1 against Haiti
Probably Ecuador will end up second if they beat Haiti for more than one goal
And Peru will be out only cause of goal difference, despite having the same points as BRA-ECU

Of course this in the case than Peru can tie Brasil. If they lose, they are out. If they win, they are in.
Brasil goes through in every virtual scenario anyway.

if Peru somehow beats Brazil ..we are through with 7 points

Brazil stay on 4...and Ecuador would knock them out by simply beating Haiti and going to 5

so there is a very remote chance Brazil gets knocked out:eek:

of course Peru have not actually beat Brazil in a competitive match (or any match) since 1975...

omg, you are right! i didnt thought about the possibility but is a very certain one, this Peru team is good, though, and lets not forget Peru finished top 3 in the 2 last copa america.
And about not beating Brazil since 1975...well, it could happen, we havent reached the final of the WC in 24 years in 2014...and we broke that spell! (we should have broke the other one, but oh well).
So, still, Brazil could get knocked out...Peru really has to bring it but it could happen

It would be awesome if that happens, tbh

it was a much better result for Ecuador than Peru though... Ecuador now needs only a 2 goal win over Haiti to guarantee qualification. Meanwhile, Peru will need to beat Brazil or hope that Ecuador don't get a win over Haiti

I just noticed.. if Peru beats Brazil.. and we beat Haiti.. we will go thru.. BUT I don't care.. I still want Brazil to beat Peru.. cuz I don't wanna see Peru in first place.. I'll rather see Brazil in first place, than Peru!

Peru started out so well. Mostly because of brilliance by the experienced players up front.
But the new kids being integrated in the back line got exposed and Ecuador took advantage and came back.
It makes for a very good final match day for every team. I think Haiti will even try their best not to be embarrassed again.

Yes EXACTLY.. this is why I'm worried we won't even score 2 goals on Haiti.

I don't think Peru has a chance of beating Brazil in New England.
Foxborough is going to be a sea of yellow.

Si Perú hubiera llevado a todos sus mejores jugadores en la copa , creo que tendrían alguna chance

You'll win. Even if you don't win by more than 2 goals, we're unlikely to even get a draw against Brazil anyways.
