I think letting off the gas and taking pity on a lesser team is what I would consider disrespectful... Germany sure didnt' slow down when they beat them by that same exact score.
I dont know man, I believe in camaderie amongst colleagues, Haiti is obviously rattled and defeated, If its amongst rivals or powerhouses so be it, but to do this to a Haiti team that never played this tournament is just abusive.
They actually NEED to own the GD statistic. If they finish 2nd, then they're playing Colombia - and that means they're going home.
I overslept on this game and when I turned the tv on it the broadcast was ending and the highlight was Haiti scoring and I thought "WHAT?! HAITI BEAT BRAZIL?!" and then the score showed up
OMG 7-1 Just arrived home and see this, i cant believe i missed it!! This is almost like a revenge to the germany situation (?)
Very boring game. Brazil just walked around and effortlessly score. Haiti tried, but I think they lost will power to keep trying after the 5th goal. You didn't miss much tbh. Only a question if Jonas should be starting material
They both share 9 world titles (Brazil 2-0 Germany in '02) and Brazil accumulated several Copa Americas while Germany, along with Spain, have the most European titles. Both have players that are record-holding World Cup scorers. Brazil became the first non-European team to win in a world Cup held in Europe (Sweden '58) while Germany became the first foreign team to win in America two years ago.
Haiti played deflated IMO after they conceded the first goal. I must admit that I don't know anything about their national team, but during their game vs Peru, the commentators said that their GK is their best player. He was absolutely awful yesterday. If I'm Ecuador, I'm taking shots on goals on sight to test him early.
