The title is pretty self-explanatory. Plus, I didn't know where the following post fit.

Okay, when I first saw this I thought it was West Brom's goal that all0wed them to draw Tottenham today, thereby practically sealing the Premiership for Leicester City.

But, this was actually Tottenham's goal. Of all the times they struck the woodwork this is ironically the goal that they scored.

Anyway, the Leicester City story is awesome.

Just an internet rumor. Everyone knows Sacramento can't score goals.

Barron has also worked at Newcastle, Middlesborough, QPR and West Bromwich Albion as a goalkeeper coach.

The match will be broadcast live (audio only) at SFCityFC.com. Broadcaster Charles Wollin will have the pre-match build-up and call from Green Valley High School starting at 7:25pm.

If that's the real reason they backed out, that's pretty much a chicken$#!+ move. I expect management of a professional sports team to act more professionally. Rayo OKC didn't meet that expectation this round........

Unreal clearance off the line today in Germany vs. Ukraine game. This is Jerome Boateng of Germany.

NASL now has a cable sports contract for 10 fall season games on CBS Sports Network. First game today. Channel 732 for local Comcast/Xfinity customers. And, yes, I'm pimping OKC sports again because I know all of you are excited to see your 2nd favorite team...

    Yourrrrrrrr OKC RAYOOOOOOOO!!!!

I know the notion of promotion/relegation in the U.S. is an over-discussed topic when compared to its liklihood, but I thought this opinion-piece was pretty good. Plus, it includes quotes from Warren and Kevin Goldthwaite...

I'm over all of the "pro/rel will make our national team better and soccer super duper popular in the U.S.!" myth pounded by advocates. I just can't stomach the simplistic notions and only looking at the pros and not the cons, and many people's inability to put their bias aside rather than letting the conclusion they want drive their assessment.

What this author doesn't point out is that without the closed MLS league structure, there wouldn't be all of the huge money investors investing in Sac Republic and rolling out ambitious stadium plans. Those things only happen with the closed system in mind, being part of a major league like every other major sport in America. That's a huge point overlooked.

Pro-Rel may possibly be worth it, if only for the prospect of seeing Galactoscum get sent down.

Of course, MLS would never let that happen, but it's nice to dream.

I've sometimes had the thought that, while MLS will likely never participate in promotion/relegation, there could be an opportunity to do it among the lower leagues. Not the way the article suggests, with NASL leading the show and bringing MLS along (can anyone see NASL and MLS working together?). Rather, if the shrinking NASL should collapse, those teams could get absorbed into the newly-2nd-tier USL. Then you've got 40ish 2nd tier teams. Of course you have to split them up geographically, because lower tier teams won't have the cross-country travel budget (another factor the article ignores). But take all the NASL/USL & PDL teams in each half of the country, and you've got 50 or 60 teams that could be split into 3 tiers with pro/rel. The economic disparities are not as great, more investment happens in more out of the way areas, overall quality improves over time, and MLS teams could retain their affiliation with the team of their choice. Gives them a good incentive to help out their lower-tier team with players so they stay up in the 2nd tier, too.

Sure, it's a pipe dream, but it's a happy pipe dream.

According to this report, not only is Rayo OKC of NASL in dire financial straits, but the Tampa Bay Strikers may be as well, quoting the club's managing director. The report also mentions "rumors" of NASL clubs looking to jump to USL, but also USL looking to jump to NASL, so who knows?

    http://www.dirtysouthsoccer.com/2016/8/9/12390266/is-rayo-okc-the-first-dent-in-an-nasl-implosion

Add to this Minn. Previously-known-as-United about to make the jump to MLS and the recent loss of Atlanta Silverbacks (dead weight) and SA Scorpions (which I thought was somewhat successful), what kind of shape is NASL really in?

Okay guys and gals, I know I'm the only person on this board with even a passing interest in Rayo OKC. But this is just bizarre. The minority owner has taken and hidden 1/2 of the playing surface and will not release it to Rayo until there is an agreement on its future use.

It is not a just or kind world if OKC Energy FC is not somehow involved in this.
