Ok. So Veltman as right back indeed. Maybe Tete has a worse cross? Might be a thing. I just mist the explenation of Blind, only saw the final line up.

Wijnaldum, Stroot and Bazoer in midfield. I would have played van Ginkel. Probably left out Wijnaldum as he has been so bleek for NT so far. Hope he gives me a reason this game to change my mind about him.

Same for Promes. I hear all good things about him in Russia and his team. Scoring goals. Alright, now do it for country man. It is time for your first real good game for the Netherlands.

I think Depay and Janssen make sense. Happy not to see de Jong being so immobile at the front.

    Lets go.

I now finally want to see a good game from the Netherlands. 3 straight wins or Blind can go IMO. Something Bert van Marwijk left behind in our football culture. Winning is a habit. The more you do it, the stronger it gets. Van Gaal also won almost everything in qualifying and the did well at the WC. Before Euro 2012 we suddenly started to lose. Then we had a bad tournament.

We have to start building the winning streaks up again.

    WWW

That is for me the task for Blind. That will create the self confidence to beat a Sweden and maybe do something about France finally (after being beaten by them 2 times over 2 years or so).

3-0 Netherlands. If we struggle, I am pissed. If we draw or lose, I want Blind out as he is not able to build winning streaks to become a serious nation again. Go.

Tete never went forward much at all this past season. FdB preferred building up on the left side and used Dijks 95% of the time. We really don't know what Tete is capable of. Veltman was used much more than Tete when the latter was out injured. That being said, Tete is an unbelievably great defensive FB.

We shouldn't allow to score goals like that, especially a tall defender like v.Dijk!

Awful play in the midfield. Memphis is having a typical off day. Janssen has had maybe one touch. Promes is the best player on the pitch at this point. Can't see this team scoring a goal; too much like Ajax.

I have made many notes, but I am not analyse that sh*t. This Dutch NT first has to answer to minimum standards to be analyzed by me and they don't.

Bazoer (aka let me p[ass this ball back), Wijnaldum and Janssen... did they play? Can Memphis control a ball? Is a bit of tempo too much to ask? Did people see that turnover speed mid game? I was laughing hard. Not 1 proper shot on goal. No keeper testing even. Wow.

Three losses should get rid of Blind and Oostveen.

Van Ginkel seems to be doing slighlty better.
Willems doesn't run anymore, he makes only backpasses and crosses from the midfield. o_O

I have just seen the most passionless game in an eon.

The problem was that midfield did not make off ball runs. All in the ball and then wanting to distribute.

Bazoer has too low handling speed and does nothing. Wijnaldum level nothing.

Stroot a bit better, but also is on ball

    Wijnaldum was nowhere. Like always.

With van ginkel I saw some verticality at least. If he passes, he is prepared to make a run so that the new guy on the ball has an extra option to the front. That is why everybody was backpassing otherwise.

Berghuis has no speed and only passed back

Depay has constant ball loss as he has no control

    Promes is toothless as always.

    Defense whatever.

Pattern PSV with Willems de Jong got us a goal. Through the air. We created little.

Jannsen has not first tough. Messed up Depay pass and other ball.

This game was horrible and Blind needs to go. He really should.

Well I need to credit the NT, they all had their shirts on correctly with the badge on the front and the number on the back. What a dreadful group of players; we can bitch all we want about Blind but I doubt that there is a manager around that can make team that opponents will tremble at from this group. Here they are playing a typical EPL-like team that likes it rough and will seek to capitalize on free kicks and every defense of such kicks was an adventure. Other than the goal, I don't remember any shot that was put on frame by the Oranje.

    Player Ratings:

Cillessen (6.5) - decent enough and he didn't even have to face a penalty kick
Willens (4) - really bad other than the one and only cross that was on target, what's with this holding the ball for five seconds and looking around
van Dijk (5) - should have done better on a couple of the corners as he knows exactly how these things play out in the EPL
Bruma (3.5) - he obviously didn't hear Cillessen call him off a ball when there was nobody around and he was really lucky not to have an OG
Veltman (5.5) - out of position but the best defender of the back four, some very nice interventions
Strootman (6) - glad to see him back and he is the best midfielder the club has right now so he better not get hurt
Bazoer (3) - woeful performance but he did have a nice spectator's view of what was going on around him; just as at Ajax he does nothing to create passing areas
Wijnaldum (4) - he's not a midfielder, he's not a winger, what kind of player is he?
Memphis (3.5) - my goodness how much worse can he get?
Janssen (4) - maybe had two touches all match long?
Promes (5) - the best player on attack but that is damning with faint praise
Berghuis (4) - there is a reason he plays at Watford
van Ginkel (6) - I take back all my earlier statements - he is much better than Davy Klaassen!!!
Dost (5) - had a couple of headers
de Jong (6) - if he didn't bury that goal he would be laughed out of town

This is not the generation of players that will take us to the promised land. Buckle up it's going to be some ugly football over the next two years.

I am really laughing my ass off right now with all the calls to fire Danny Blind. Face up to facts, these players are not even average by NT standards!

He failed to qualify us, lost at home to Iceland and the Czech. He is not able to put down a defense that stops conceding goals and this team plays like a dead cat. Blind is horrible. He is a civil servant, not a coach. He lacks the temperament of a good coach and the organisational qualities. This team is bad, but not as bad as he let us play.
