We should put all these into a collector's book. Threadbare - Arsenal and the Never Ending Silly Season
Should be called "Made up rumors on twitter" Anyways, I saw this on twitter. http://www.espnfc.com/blog/transfer...ern-lewandowski-man-united-seek-higuain-boost Lewa would be a game changer, but it's not gonna happen.
Need more than that to win the title. M'Vila maybe but I'd pass on Remy. Think 80m is enough for Griezmann?
For me Higuain, Batshuayi or Morata will be killer. And maybe try and get Fekir on the wings or another goal grabbing midfielder. Guys, should we loan Iwobi next year? Something tells me he may stagnate at Arsenal if he doesn't get week in week out gametime.
If the rumor of Klinsmann to Everton is true, then we really should sign Landon Donovan. I doubt anyone would try harder than LD against Klinsi.
Jokes aside, it has been pretty quiet lately on the rumors front. Nothing new on Xhaka or Morata. A couple of recent ones are about CB's, Benatia, who may definitely leave Bayern and Manolas from Roma. Both are top defenders, although Benatia is older and has been injured lately, a Manolas trade will cost some good money (30 M and up).
Personally would sell Campbell, Walcott, maybe Ox, although that's probably too much sales for Wenger. Would love to loan Iwobi so he can get action week in week out.
If Theo and Campbell are sold, Iwobi is definitely not going on loan.To these two, I would add Debuchy, Sir No Goal and Chez. I could see Gibbs (for lack of playing time) Giroud and Mert leaving as well. We would definitely need at minimum four solid additions, One per line (CB, CDM, CF) a winger /scorer and may be a up and coming LB.
My list... Sell Chez Per Debuchy Gibbs (only if he pushes) Walcott Giroud Ox (possibly loaned) Loan Chambers (send him somewhere he can play CB or CDM regularly) Purchases Starting caliber CB (Manolas, ???) Young CB (Oxford, ???) Young LB (Chilwell, Tierney, Sessegnon) Backup RB (Iorfa, ???) DM/CM (Xhaka, Konte, ???) AM/Wing (Mahrez, Fekir, ???) ST (Morata, Icardi, Higuain, Iba, Lewa, ???) Yes I know most of that is a pipe dream and video game level turnover. Just my opinion of what the long term goal should be. More realistic possibility... Sell Chez Debuchy Walcott Loan Chambers Ox Purchase Starting caliber CB Backup RB Starting caliber DM/CM ST who can challenge Giroud
Swap Theo for Sturridge. I don't care if Klopp makes him good, Sturridge could fit in well in our style. Whether Wenger has the balls to get Ibra, or Higuain, then good. if we ******** up this window, then we're getting top four at best next year. If Mourinho doesn't join Man U, which he may not, we'll finish above United again at least.
Good call- though we all know quite a bit of movement will be necessary to challenge for anything (particularly given the money City are going to spend), Wenger typically buys 2-3 players at most.
Ibra or Higuain won't happen (and a good thing too). Theo for Sturridge won't happen - why would Liverpool do that deal, and Sturridge is even more injury prone than Walcott. United need to go after Simeone. That's a job Simeone might take.
According to John Cross: -Arsenal is keeping tabs on Mauro Icardi (Inter). - Morata still an option - Main targets this summer, No.2 keeper, centre-half, midfielder and a forward -Arsenal have already checked out Atletico Madrid defender Lucas Hernandez, may bid for Ben Chidwell (Leicester) or Ryan Sessegnon (Fulham) - Arsenal are confident of completing a deal for Xhaka -Henrikh Mkhitaryan, 27, is also up for grabs. (For what it is worth..). I would be ok with Icardi, good pick and will be an improvement. The Hernandez kid is young (20) but really solid.
You right, he'd be a perfect fit in our physio room, with all the others. Wasn't this a transfer thread name from a couple years back? Or is that the joke?
People Assume City are going on a spree. I'm more interested on who they are buying. For me I don't think they quite have the building blocks. I'd want this Xhaka deal done and dusted asap.
They already have Gundogan and Laporte lined up. It's a two year rebuild for them, but this summer they'll likely focus on the midfield and add a CB. They'll focus on fullbacks and a replacement for Aguero next summer.
I'll watch the Gundogan experiment. To be honest, I don't think there are enough, good enough players to support the current level of "super" clubs. Who would have thought when Chelsea first showed up we would enter the "when everyone is super, no one will be."
