They have Azerbaijan land of fire on their kits and the Azerbaijan flag flies on top of the stadium so he got what he wanted. Thats all he cared about, promoting his country in France.

They are also bringing back the playoffs. 18th L1 vs 3rd L2. Should be fun. Better than only 2 pro/ rel which is what some wanted.

Dijon become first club to secure Ligue 1 promotion

Dijon became the first club to win promotion to Ligue 1 this season after Le Havre fell short at Evian.

Le Havre could have delayed Dijon in their bid to secure a top-three berth had they won in Annecy on Friday, but a 1-1 draw meant Olivier Dall'Oglio's side were able to celebrate returning to the top flight.

Dijon were relegated from Ligue 1 in 2011-12 after conceding 63 goals and enduring 20 losses.

They are pretty lame. They have only been around since 1998 because the 2 Dijon clubs merged together. Why a city the size of Dijon had 2 clubs to begin with I have no idea.

Doesnt look like Red Star will go up which is fine since they need to stabilize as a professional club first.

Has there been any news in the press in regards to them building or playing in a new ground? I seem to recall Stade Bauer being incredibly small, only 10,000 or so spectators and for a team with Ligue 1 ambitions(and more), it would seem to me that they would need to straighten that out.

Its not even 10,000. Only one stand is open, the others are closed and can't be opened. Its more like 3,000. The closed stands have been closed for years and have decayed badly.

I read an article with photos and saw how one of the stands were falling apart before everyone's eyes. It was rather shocking in a country such as France that a stadium could be deteriorating so badly and games were still being held there.

Sochaux are almost heading down to 3rd tier. They have a Chinese owner. Is he spending any money or what ?
