    No ,

It's Benfica propaganda . And it's not good for him or his development.

Not ready for the euro .

Well if he does not make the Euro's then he might make the Olympic squad and if does not make that he will definitely make the U19 Euro in Germany in June, so he can't be that disappointed, I guess.

What's important is that he plays and continues developing. I'd rather not see him at the euro, after the euro we should integrate him into the squad as a permanent starter so he develops chemistry with the players around him. He should be a big part of the road to 2018, no doubt.

Interesting article today by the telegraph..

I also do not want him at the Euro. Its not like we are desperate to have him there. There is such a thing as too much too early.

    Joao Mario
    Bernardo silva
    William
    Danilo
    Joao moutinho
    Adrien / tiago
    Andre Gomes

That's who should be selected for midfield

Renato should be selected before Adrien.

I agree with everyone else though, including Tiago if healthy

I disagree, Renato has quality but Adrien has had a stellar season and deserves the call-up, he's also more experienced and that's a factor. I think with Renato in the Olympic squad or U19 we can actually have a great chance at winning some silverware though, and no doubt Renato will eventually have a place in the A team.

how many goals in the league?

how many times Adrien passes to the opposition?

    how many assists?

you're a clown man, good thing I don't live in your shitty state otherwise Id probably be banging your girl cause I can tell you are a cornudo.

I am a winner since day 1, I was born Portuguese and unlike others I didn't sit on that advantage and kept on winning at life.

even if Sport is not campeao, I am a campeao at life.

im not saying RENATO isn't good

he has lots of quality for an 18 year old

but the reality is he is overrated by pro benfica media, even CR7 didn't get this hype but that is because he didn't wear a red jersey

this hype is only detrimental to Renato

as usual the intelligent ones will expect big things only from the SCP youths.

I agree with you about the euro not being his time (nor should it be for any 18 year old in my opinion) but i disagree with your notion that the media is 'hyping' Renato up. If you've watched every Benfica game you would know why ManU, Barca, Bayern, Real, Juve scouts are all over him. When William Carvalho came on the scene, was the media trying to suppress his potential? No, he got just as much publicity as Renato is currently getting. William was getting shoved down our throats everywhere and it was pretty warranted. William didn't have the ideal season, but his potential is still there. The media isn't putting anybody on a pedestal due to bias. When somebody that is evidently special comes along, the spotlight is always on them. That's just how the football media works in every country, especially in 2016.

I'd say the media most definitely has been hyping up Renato, like they did, as you point out, with William.
But this isn't anything new. People get excited about prospects like that, as everyone wants to believe we have future world-class gems coming up, and so the newspapers act accordingly to increase their sales.

Renato's rise, however, cannot be claimed purely for that reason, however. At the end of the day he's an 18 year old kid who was chosen by UEFA to their Best XI for both Round of 16 games in the Champions League. That is a rarity and so the clamor around him is certainly justified to a significant degree.

    Renato is something special.

I know Porto fans who feel the same way. I don't know many sporting fans IRL because they never leave their parents basement

Renato doesn't look like he's ready at all for Portugal's A team...or Benfica's for that matter.

I guess my point that he is

    A. Ready to be in the running for the national team

    And

    B. Clearly ready for the first team of the best team in Portugal

    A. Um no. He didn't start any games and sucked ass in both. Not to mention it once Adrien and Mario were against Belgium, your wet dream combo of Bernardo and Sanches did absolutely nothing and conceded a goal.

    B. Best team in Portugal:
