Ft Lauderdale vs Miami FC is a heated rivalry.

Couldn't they have chosen the Indy game instead! I'm worried this game may not have the best "atmosphere" for T.V. if you know what I mean.

Yep what @The One X said, but rest assured, BeIN is coming to the first Indy home game the following week.

Let's think positive, maybe there will be 10k confused individuals who think this is the Miami MLS team.

Rumor on twitter is another network is about to get in the mix with the NASL. Seems a bit late in the process, but CBS Sports has been rumored for a while too.

Its in Lockhart stadium in Broward county, which held almost 12k for the home opener last year. I think capacity is around 20k, if they repeat around there it wouldn't look too bad for the NASL on TV. Hopefully some fans from Miami come up and pack the place.

Well.... Apparently the rumor came from the Rayo OKC co-owner himself, so I'd say it's a pretty solid source. :p

Something to look forward to in June...

    #BuildChicagoNASL: Behind The Scenes

Using the launches of the Chicago Fire and Indy Eleven as guidelines, Chicago NASL’s timeline is in between the two. I began working as the first employee of the Chicago MLS team nine months prior to its first game and the team was named three months later. In Indianapolis, I began working on the launch phase 18 months in advance and the team was branded publicly 11 months prior to its first game. Chicago NASL’s website launch began the club’s promotional efforts almost 14 months prior to the expected April, 2017 launch. We are aiming for official acceptance into NASL and club branding this June, which would be almost 10 months prior to Chicago NASL kickoff.

A bit premature to call it heated when this is their first ever meeting, but hopefully that rapidly becomes the case!

Pretty successful offseason for the league I'd say.

Nope, only available on CBS Sports. Local and ESPN3 will be blocked.

Well half of it is, the other half is just reserve teams for MLS youth players. :p

Pretty banner off-season for NASL, and I am sure the usual NASL haters are working hard to try and spin the news as a negative for the league they all want to see crash to D3.

    1. They lost San Antonio and Atlanta (which was doomed after MLS expansion) but picked up Miami, OKC and Puerto Rico. Definitely softening the blow.
    2. The added a west coast team to satisfy the collusion and arbitrary rules which Garber and Gulati were using to try and get NASL to D3 and move up the MLS owners pet project USL to D2.
    3. Peter Wilt is working on bringing back the Sting
    4. Signed contracts with BeIn SPorts and CBS Sports to get national TV for NASL matches.

Now they just need to join the USWNT and Kessler and file suit against MLS, SUM and USSF for anti-competitive collusion. :x3:

Is this the same with the beIN games? I assume so but never know.

Nope, BeIN is different. Only CBS is like that.

BeIN games will be on ESPN3? That doesn't seem right. The BeIN game this weekend is not listed on ESPN3.

Or are you talking about local TV?

This a step in the right direction for a league that is looking to achieve DI status in the future. NASL, formed in 2011, is still around and laying down some roots.

Sorry was talking about the local TV blackout thing. I don't believe BeIN games will be on ESPN3.

I like that the league is moving a lot of games from Espn3 to BeIn and CBS sports. The latter two have a higher profile (on T.V) and are more likely to attract new fans while Espn3 is stream only.
