compared to France game, the England game was pretty straight forward. vs France the build up was from all left, right and centre. Payet, Matudi, Griezmann . I think the vs England the build was mostly from the middle with Barkely the architect and both Vardy and Lallana cutting in from the wings.. to some extent this is why the defenders were pretty much in touch compared to vs France where there were fully stretched even with 3 defenders. the outcome from the friendlies: Blind:we lost and learned from the french game and then we won vs England. you cant fire me. KNVB: Awesome job ,well done you will not be fired.
Holland also are one of the only countries to have a winning record over Brazil. It is 3 wins, 2 losses and 2 draws overall
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ I disagree, they might be counting non-official FIFA friendly matches in your stats
Here's all the ratings (for whatever Goal.com ratings are worth, which isnt very much): http://www.goal.com/en/match/england-vs-netherlands/2165476/ratings
If that is so, then Promes is really not doing well in the NT. He has never impressed me actually. Dog that might bark a bit, never really bites. If he does elsewhere, great. I want to see it in the NT. Plenty examples of players that are good for club, bad for country.
Willems: looked solid at left back ....... I only hear how bad he was. I don't think Goal is to be taken serious.
He runs so well, and shows great potential, but then gets stuck against whatever leftback he runs against. I think he's a runner, but not much of a football player. Anywho, I cant believe this sorry Oranje manages to grind out a win against England. I know it was their B-team, but thats no excuse for the English. They shouldve trashed us at home in Wembley
The most impressive thing about Janssen is his ability to hold-up play. He took the ball cleanly, protected it calmly and distributed at the proper thing. No sign of panic or clumsiness. I see a little bit of Ruud Van Goal in this regard. His finishing can (and will) get better. His 1v1 with the the goalie, after Stones' mistake, should have been buried. Oh, and I love his PK... smashed to the roof net. I think he's given a glimmer of hope that perhaps finally there's a proper striker in the making for the Dutch NT. Decent showing from the two CB's Bruma and Blind. Veltman was good defensively, but offered little going forward. Willems brought in nothing at all. Period. Which was a huge disappointment, as I had high hopes that he would link up nicely with Depay. Well.. in fact, the lazy defending of the two contributed to Vardy's goal. Bazoer did what he was supposed to as the holding midfielder. Protecting the back four and closing on players. Can't be too critical of him too much, although I'd prefer a DM that's more mobile and active in setting up plays.
Can someone tell me about Janssen's speed?? I havent seen him play much. His speed seems average. Am I wrong??
I am reluctant to think that the finishing capability of Janssen will improve so much. I see him more as Dirk Kuyt (or Koevermans to some else) rather than Ruud. That kind of tor instinct is rare and if he missed a huge chance in this game, then that is another data point suggesting that he is no Ruud. Anyway, he is more mobile than LdJ and I hate immobile strikers. Not in all situations, but in general. Aguero, Suarez, that is my kind of stuff.
