http://www.oregonlive.com/sports/index.ssf/2016/03/world_soccer_powers_to_play_ga.html Just answered my own question. Apparently the University says the field will be 105 meters by 68 meters (approx 114 yards by 78 yards). I am calling bullshit on that.
Apparently at Autzen Stadium, home of the Ducks. They will lay sod over the field turf but I'd think it will still be very narrow.
Very narrow is an understatement. Speaking as a guy who sat in the tenth row there for a decade, i don't even think there is ten yards from the field to the stands. Which is a shame, because other than that problem, i think it would be a tremendous soccer venue.
There isn't a good replay of it, but Olave's red was pretty ridiculous. Especially that it ended up in a penalty kick. It likely would have also removed any incentive for Martinez to commit his horrible tackle on Nagbe, which has since been treated as a red and not a yellow. That was super ugly, but tough for a ref to hand out 3 red cards to one team in a single game.
