Got a hold of Phillips on Twitter. He said, "Hello mate , I actually have no idea why Wikipedia has me down for being American! I am fully English aha but wouldn't mind!" At least he has a good sense of humor about it. Ha.
A possible German-American '97 in Germany's lower divisions: http://www.fupa.net/spieler/felix-niklas-kluenemann-741708.html
Here's another possible data source for you Detective Work dorks (a group in which I certainly include myself): http://www.anpfiff.info/sites/home/home.aspx It seems to have a lot of lower-division players (some in very low leagues) listed, along the lines of FuPa, though there are some other guys listed as well. Here's a link to some search results, most of which I have not checked: http://bit.ly/1QtQ6xA (Some of those guys already had threads in YA.)
Transfermarkt says a '92 named Mateusz Górecki is Polish-American. http://www.transfermarkt.com/mateusz-gorecki/profil/spieler/266025 Here he is on the second-team roster of a team in Poland: http://www.ks-skra.pl/a-klasa/kadra/zawodnik,364/mateusz-gorecki.html Maybe related to Oskar?
Transfermarkt has a GerMerican named Quincy Henderson at SG Reichsweiler: http://www.transfermarkt.com/quincy-henderson/profil/spieler/352430
Oskar's last name was Gasecki (assuming you are talking about the same guy), and I think he wound up not having US citizenship.
Don't know if you guys have checked out Niall Mason (I know @ussoccer97531 mentioned him in another thread), but the article linked below says he has an American father. Sounds like he's fairly committed to representing England, however. http://www.birminghammail.co.uk/spo...on-villa-portugal-lowdown-18-year-old-9636558
Jeremy Hopkins in Germany's lower divisions is American according to Anpfiff: http://www.anpfiff.info/sites/person/start.aspx?SK=2&Pers=59801 A '92, according to FuPa: http://www.fupa.net/spieler/jeremy-hopkins-63125.html Club roster: http://www.atsv-forchheim.de/1-mannschaft/1-mannschaft.html
Well, Niall says his dad was born in the States. I don't know the circumstances of his father's birth or who his father's parents were.
Transfermarkt says a '97 named Jay Jaskólski is American. He does seem to be at a club called Zawisza Bydgoszcz, but he seems to be Polish and maybe Australian. http://www.wkszawisza.pl/klub/kadra-i-zespolu/player/4/123 http://www.transfermarkt.com/jay-jaskolski/profil/spieler/401503
Transfermarkt now has him at Croatia Hannover. http://www.transfermarkt.com/michael-davies/profil/spieler/422007 http://www.svcroatia-hannover.de/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=194&Itemid=104
Soccer Talents says a '97 named Reni Grant at a Spanish youth club called CD San Francisco Mallorca is American. http://www.soccer-talents.com/Reni_Frederick_Grant-3_7-245658-12.html He has been there recently: https://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?id=614040858665545&story_fbid=798086106927685 I really have no idea about this, but his Facebook page mentions a high school in Milwaukee which, right or not, is probably where the connection comes from.
Soccer-Talents has a '98 GK named Emil Reeves Olsen at AB in Denmark. http://www.soccer-talents.com/Emil_Reeves_Olsen-3_7-287875-12.html He does seem to exist and is or at least has been at the club. But don't have much more at this time.
Soccer Talents says Anderlecht '98 Zorhan Bassong is American/Canadian/Cameroonian/French. http://www.soccer-talents.com/Zorhan_Bassong-3_7-275716-12.html
Soccer Talents says there's a '99 named Joshua Elias at Djurgardens. http://www.soccer-talents.com/Joshua_Orlando_Elias-3_7-292432-12.html He's seemingly there, but not sure if he's a Yank.
A '91 named Amar Islamovic at FC Inter Leipzig in Germany (where he has a YA teammate) is American, according to FuPa. http://www.fupa.net/spieler/amar-islamovic-916959.html http://fc-inter.com/kader/ He might be one, but he appears to have come here as a refugee so I'm not 100% certain of his status. His club doesn't list him as American, but his mother seems to have obtained citizenship so I wouldn't be shocked if he did too. Profile while he was in college: http://www.sandiegouniontribune.com/news/2010/jan/30/wolverines-star-was-once-refugee/ The coach Martin Coughlin in that article was himself a YA I believe.
FuPa also lists Little, who is now at Borussia Neunkirchen, as a German-American. http://www.fupa.net/spieler/malcolm-mcquay-little-570826.html http://www.borussia-neunkirchen.de/oddset-oberliga-sudwest-201415-team/ His Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Malcolm.Little95
Transfermarkt has a lower-division German player named Sidney Rast as American: http://www.transfermarkt.com/sidney-rast/profil/spieler/362918 http://www.derwesten.de/sport/lokal...ettet-sportfreunden-den-punkt-id11376182.html
Kevin Jeon seems to be a '94 at lower-division German club FC Blau-Weiß Friesdorf. http://www.fc-bw-friesdorf.de/erste-mannschaft-kader The club says he joined from a Spanish team called CD SANTURTZI. A player with this name shows up on several California team rosters; in some cases he's referred to as Korean. Could be both.
