I don't remember having to. Maybe I got a defective one. If you do like ripping boxes, that's your business; I'm not judging. That was sort of a nice box to rip needlessly though.

Assuming you guys got this as well. My thoughts:

    1) they recognize this will be tough to figure out but seem flexible/open to getting it fairly accurate.
    2) love that they will accepts photos of you at the game.. classic.
    3) weird part to me moving forward, from AO, is if i buy 4 tickets for my AO friends...how do each of them get credit.
    4) finally, and most important......doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things how many caps you have.. Not sure where i saw that there are many benefits associated with it.

There has been a ton of interest and excitement about Membership status and the methods by which we will be calculating status – Caps and Years. With lots of interest also comes lots of questions! Here is what’s happening currently and will be happening in the future regarding Caps:

    Counting Past Caps
Naturally, many Members have attended lots of matches. This is terrific and exactly what the Membership program rewards. All Members who were active at the Star Level or higher at the of the end of the Supporters Club are eligible to count past Caps. If you’re receiving this email, that means you.

Linking Members to their past Caps is challenging. Tickets for National Team matches have been sold from a great variety of sources because each venue has its own ticketing provider. While we have access to this data, it is in many different formats. Our team has been working with the data to standardize it and link it to Members. This brings its own challenge. The best method to link Members to ticket purchases is by email address. Obviously this isn’t a perfect solution. Long story short, we know there are some holes in our data.

What we want is count all your Caps! In a few weeks we will be sending you information on the Caps we have in our system. We’ll let you know not only the total number of matches, but the specific matches we have on record. If you have been to matches we don’t have on record, all you need to do is let us know and provide some proof.

That proof can take many forms - ticket receipts, email confirmations, even photos of you at the game! We want you to get the credit you deserve. We’ll let you know the exact process to claim Caps when we send you what we have in our records.

For U.S. Soccer Members who are also part of the American Outlaws, we will not have record of your attendance for most past matches, but absolutely will count matches attended with tickets purchased from AO. Receipts, email confirmations, or videos of you standing and singing will all be welcome forms of proof of attendance.

    Counting Future Caps
Soon we will be introducing you to the U.S. Soccer Account Manager. It is a Ticketmaster powered site that will provide you access to purchase and manage your tickets. All tickets purchased through the Account Manager will be counted for Caps.

If you purchase tickets for yourself and friends who are Members, all you’ll need to do is transfer them the tickets via Account Manager. It’s a simple process that only requires their email address. Tickets purchased outside of the Account Manager will not be counted for Caps, unless the Account Manager is unavailable for that match.

We have worked with the American Outlaws leadership to ensure that all future tickets purchased from AO will count towards Caps as well.

It is all CAP based, with different levels of perks for more games. Also, you will be able to enter e-mails of fellow members when ordering tickets if they are US soccer members to get them CAPS for those games.

Yeah it says as long as thy are members you just transfer the ticket to them.

Rumors are (just like in Brazil which were unfounded) that the higher up status you are the more priority you have for tickets.

With three separate match day experiences for varying CAPS. Worth it for me for 50 bucks, see if it is worth it after I used the 3 levels of match day experiences, and decide to cancel if it isn't worth it.

I think you get one of each ( was my impression). It is like a field pass, a VIP pass, and the ultimate matchday fan experience. Or something like that.

So I get one each of the next three games I go to?

Anyone get the email and check the number of caps they have on file with US soccer? Not only do they have me for way less caps then I went to, the only caps they have for me are ones that I didn't go to the games!

They must have screwed up their spreadsheet. No way the supporters club can be this dumb.

Not even the World Cup tickets that I bought through US PMA were included, I mean that should have been the easiest slam dunk there was.

Yeah they have my caps all messed up too...only show me going to 1 game and it being a game that I did not go to! haha I have almost always bought tickets through US SOCCER presales and as well bought world cup tickets through the US PMA as well that didn't show up and all should be under the email that I have been using for like a decade now.

They must have a big issue with the Database and linking to the correct email--might just be the web tool that has an issue that they can get corrected.

Just opened the email and my caps are messed up too. Only lists 1 cap and it was a WNT match that I did not go to.

Maybe it's all just a con to sell more women's tickets

They gave me credit for one game total that I didn't even attend. I do save all my ticket stubs, so I'm okay once I find the boxes in the deepest reaches of our apartment.

Since 1996, I must have attended between 30 and 50 US full men's and women's team matches, plus a bunch of U-23 and U-20 men's games, that don't count.

What a mess they have made. The new website only shows games from 2016, so it's useless to jog my memory.

Zero caps. That's 9 less than I should have. Okay 8, since my brother bought my ticket to one of the 9 games. Some work to do.

Yep - I got big whopping zero caps. At least I have three ticket stubs for the for 30 or so games I've attended. I started another thread on this since I didn't notice this one. I have used at least three emails for my US Soccer membership, but I've been consistent with my Ticketmaster email, which I'd guess is how most of the tickets were purchased. But, that email is not the current one I have on file with US Soccer.

Well, I checked my caps again at http://membership.ussoccer.com/caps-and-years, as I've been doing several times over the past few weeks [very optimistically], and now I no longer even have the option of entering my email address.

I have good news, I have better news, and I have bad news:

The good news: The cap-checking app is working again.
The better news: I got an email from U.S. Soccer telling me they added all 9 of my caps to my account.
The bad news: The app still has me at 0 caps.

I emailed them about the cap issue, and also asked about the portal. Their response:

    "Patrick,

The reason you are still seeing zero caps online is because the website has not been updated yet. As soon as all caps have been updated, you will see your correct number of caps displayed online.

The member portal is still being developed. As soon as it is up and running you will be notified.

Please let us know if you have any questions.

    Thank you for your support!"
