And then he seamlessly slipped into a Hitlerian rant in German.

Bill Maher said last night, apparently seriously, that Trump used to keep a book of Hitler's speeches by his bed. THEN Bill made some jokes.

Maher spoke of this very theory .. And yes I am concerned as well (because a percentage of voters would flip for trump in an instant in the belief that Reeps= national security , a falsehood ; but they have left facts by the wayside long ago... And ISIS like groups probably benefit off a trump presidency and his espousing so much hatred and ignorance than off a more mainstream candidate ) ...that said , for the security of our nation as well , hopefully no more significant attacks occur under any president

I too hope that no terrorist attack occurs - hopefully Trump can keep his supporters on a tight leash to prevent this type of attack happening.

Oh, we made the same mistake and just enjoyed ourselves.

Needless to say you should better avoid using the phrase "drumpf" in public from now on.

I find this idea he's more insulting to the Muslims than the Mexicans, who have never done SHIT to the US, is rather ridiculous.

I mean, Islamic extremists at least knocked down the twin towers... what have the Mexicans done? Done a piss-poor job at cleaning the pool or cutting the grass?

An easy, (and soft), target, y'mean? Or that they're taking 'murcan jobs? Well, one leads to the other I suppose.

We have a similar issue with immigration and the leader of the 'In campaign' for the EU referendum, Stuart Rose, ade something a slip of the tongue recently in that regard...

    http://blogs.spectator.co.uk/2016/0...ign-says-wages-will-go-up-if-we-leave-the-eu/

Appearing before the Treasury Select Committee, Rose was asked by the Labour MP Wes Streeting ‘‘if free movement were to end following Brexit, is it not reasonable to suppose that we could see increases in wages for low-skilled workers in the UK? To which Rose replied, ‘If you’re short of labour, the price of labour would go up. So Yes. But that’s not necessarily a good thing.’

I've been saying for a long time that the interests of people like me, (with a decent house, an income and savings and previously with a good job, albeit now retired), weren't the same as someone without a house, an income, savings or a job.

The fact that I get cheap jobs done around my house by eastern european plumbers and plasterers; can buy cheap fresh and vegetables picked by eastern european agricultural workers; have been treated in an NHS hospital by Italian, Greek and Spanish doctors and nurses; etc. etc. isn't of much use to an unemployed guy down the road with no house, job or prospects.

That's why UKIP and their ilk have gained traction... because there HAS been a democratic failure and people at the bottom HAVE had their interests ignored.

Of course, the donald and guys like Nigel Farage aren't going to provide any solutions but the truth is they do at least provide a narrative which seems attractive... that being a failure isn't the fault of the individuals that are.

I'm sure some Mexicans somewhere have done something to the US. Thing is, American conservatives don't idiotically group them all together by their chosen faith like they do with followers of Islam. Add to this the fact that there are probably more Latinos (not all are Mexican, but all of them should quickly understand that none of them are safe from stereotyping) who vote than Muslims. Basically, Islam is an easy target for any redneck voter base.

A fair number of the redneck voter base mentioned above have probably lost those jobs because the Mexicans were better trained and harder-working than they are. They've been stumbling around drunk, vagrant, unemployed and stupid for centuries, but they're White, so they expected the free ride to last forever. It won't.

The Mexicans invaded in 1846. That's as much justification for hating on Mexicans as there is hating on all Muslims for something done by a couple dozen criminals a couple of decades ago.

We're not talking about justifying anything because there IS no justification for any of this shit but what's been done, (or not), is only part of it.

For example, there are relatively few muslims in the US so people don't know much about them. In that sense they can relatively easily be defined as the 'other'. However, there are massive numbers of mexicans and other hispanics, (aren't they or their descendants going to be more than 50% not too far away), so of ALL the racial minorities to insult you'd think they'd be the LAST.

Y'know, as a target the chinese and muslims are relatively straightforward as 'the other'... but what's the story on the mexicans? It makes no sense... politically I mean.

Not too many people remember that, though, do they.

Anyway, wasn't that more a result of the mexican internal conflict rather than an attack BY Mexico?
