The problem with can you hear Brazil sing, is that it only really makes sense when you are the away team winning in a home team's stadium and the other fans are silent. I dunno, maybe I'm just a curmudgeon.
Well, it's possible that, since it's illegal here [for now], it's only the more pungent lower grade stuff that I've been smelling, since that's the kind that's easiest to acquire. The ubiquitous smell to which I've been referring smells to me like burning body odor. Maybe some of the varieties available in Colorado have a more pleasant smell. I think it is a matter of taste [to risk mixing senses] to some extent. A few years ago I visited a relative in Ireland who smoked a pipe, and I was surprised to find that that particular scent was actually enjoyable, since cigarettes have always smelled like death to me. Each probably contains completely different ingredients, but still...
Anyone get a 2015 "Epic Year" yearbook and a Thank You letter from U.S. Soccer showing membership information? I wasn't expecting that. The link to the Supporters Club portal on the Federation website now leads here: http://www.ussoccer.com/supporters-club-faqs/2016-changes-to-supporters-club CHANGES COMING TO SUPPORTERS CLUB IN MARCH In March, the Supporters Club will transition into two new fan programs designed especially for you. The programs will bring enhanced opportunities to enjoy and support the sport and teams you love. We’ll provide more information soon, but don’t worry: Membership cost will not increase Current paid memberships will roll over to the new programs Existing benefits will be honored Stay tuned for more information. If you have any questions, contact the Supporters Club atsupporters@ussoccer.org. Thank you again for your tremendous support. We look forward to providing the best experiences to you, the Best Fans in the World. ...I'm still worried.
Totally new (and better appearing for real fans who actually go to games) program unrolled today. My question about CAPS (and if anyone else can figure it out let me know...), if we buy tickets through AO, will our CAPS roll over to include USA soccer membership and the new levels. For example, I have 6 caps over the last two years, will these somehow be rolled into US soccer, or do you have to buy tickets through them?
My questions: What is the start date for counting caps? 2009, the beginning of the USSSC or earlier? I've been buying presale tickets since about 2003 through USSSC and its predecessor, ussoccerfan. Do away matches count? World Cup matches? Got one cap in 2006. Czech Republic, ugh. I'll see what they come up with. I think I'll qualify for Gold.
Exactly. I have something like 30-40 but most of them were bought through AO, or even through foreign federations like Guatemala. I think I've only bought tickets through the Supporters Club like once or twice. Will be interesting to see how they do it.
yep, just got a fedex knock on the door and an follow up email. Caps/Years program seems nice at first glance (in that they are rewarding people for attending games and maintaining membership). Looks like they are researching the Caps part but a couple quick thoughts: - USSC and AO have long been at odds with sharing membership data. Looks like they've come to terms there (I think) and will give USSC the ability to see AO member sales to count towards the caps. (no inside knowledge, just a hunch). - it's going to be tough because all the different ticketing channels over the years. For the WC, you can buy directly through FIFA, so not sure those will county...etc.. etc... - gotta have some discipline on how they count caps. Can't just take people's word for it. - I like the years that they are including as well, to hedge the caps.
I just received my scarf and the 3D viewer. Did anyone get the lock code to work? I thought the video said 1-0-3.
But then the question becomes, how do they know who went to the game. Example: I buy six tickets to USA Mexico, give five to my friends. Will that count for them? How would they ever know?
My guess is that this has been in the works for a while, but that they only count CAPs for the last two years. If you think, AO has been buying tickets through USSC now for about a year. So by e-mail address they are able to keep track of your CAP, even when buying through AO. Will probably re-new my membership (just let it lapse in January), and build CAPs as I go. Don't really mind starting low because in reality you get more of the perks.
BUT if anyone gets info about the AO connection post it here, because if we have to by through US soccer to get credit it will never work, and I won't be doing it.
My guess is two years, since AO bought through US Soccer and they started their own ticketing website through ticketmaster.
Didn't take much breaking; I literally just had to lift up the other end of the box the scarf was in. It was so easy I did the code thing just to make sure the lock wasn't concealing something else. The whole spy kit thing psyched me out a little bit. I'm glad they automatically upgrade existing members to Silver. After next week I'll have been to nine matches, but I'd be shocked if I eventually get credit for all of them. What they haven't said is what types of benefits each level will receive. And I'm not sure how the whole milestone match thing will work, or if it's going to be quite as they present it.
Yeah, the lock was useless marketing for some google garbage. Wasted money in my opinion. Then again, I don't own nor want a smartphone. The scarf is nice. I think that means we got two this year. I still haven't gotten a yearbook during the 2015 membership period. Some email communication about expecting it in a few weeks at the beginning of the year. Probably the whole lock thing took up a lot of staff time. I tried to stick my landline into the 3D viewer contraption but it wouldn't fit. Ha, ha, ha.
LOL I wasn't trying to brag on some super human strength or anything. Just didn't see the point of watching some lame video.
I never implied that you were bragging. Just pointing out that anyone could get to the scarf without unlocking the lock or destroying the box.
I just want to know if the lock works, or is it a fake lock from China? I watched the video again & the code appears to be 1-0-3. The first time I watched, The Virtual Reality video thru the Google cardboard viewer was messed up. The second time, I realized the app defaulted to non-VR mode. When I enabled VR mode, it worked ok but the resolution is terrible.
