AW seems to use injuries as a chance for players to get refreshed mentally as well. Since no winter break, it's good to get the South Americans back to some sun when they are out. I'm sure his old club can rehab a hammy as well as anyone.

I'd not play Alexis and if flam is available I'd rest coq as well. Need to give ourselves a chance against barca in the first leg. Play Ox or Rambo if necessary. Just my opinion.

I hear ya, I just think Alexis needs to play himself into form. Throw him out there for 60 and then bring on Welbeck. He got a two month break so he should be relatively fresh according to my speculation!

I agree, let Sanchez play his way back to 100% form. And assuming his injury is fully healed (I realize that's a BIG assumption) then his body should be able to take some mins on Sat, then 90 on Tues, right? Maybe flip your idea so that Sanchez comes in 2nd half for 30+ mins? But again, these tough decisions is why Wenger makes the big bucks. And if he gets it wrong, it won't be the first or the last time.

Let's win tomorrow with a clean sheet, come away from Barca with our respect in tact and hammer Utd next weekend

Just watched Wenger's pre-match presser. He says he expects to use a "strong, normal side", i.e. moderate rotation? Wellbeck may start he says. And Ospina for sure. Elneny may play. Koz is fit but he didn't say he would play or not... good that we have 3 decent CB's to choose from.

p.s. He blocked loaning Debuchy to United... as he put it, a very "logical" move.

    p.p.s. COYG!!!!

p.p.p.s. Contrary to previous musings, Chuba Akpom is ineligible to play this game against us.

It was known from the get go that he wasn't eligible. He said so on his Twitter or Facebook or whatever the hell all these kids use.

Maybe you and other twitter uses knew this, but the authors of posts 2,3,4 in this thread did not. Which is what I was referring to.

I don't use any social media, other than tapatalk. He said it as soon as we drew them, he wanted to draw anyone other than Arsenal because he was not allowed to play vs us. I actually posted it here and many others posted it on the previous FA cup match thread.

Whadya know, major rotation after all. Well done Arsene!

Edit: the only surprise for me is callum at RB rather than him stinting Koz. . But i guess with Gab being out and for some reason AW thinking hector needs rest more than Koz....

9 changes and still a decent looking side, not bad.

Bruce has also rung the changes so it could be a handy enough victory if everyone is focused

Elneny sure looks like an attacking threat! Especially for a supposed DM. ;)

Kinda looks like men against boys so far. For once we're on the right side of that equation.

Iwobi MoE and Chambers all looking very good out there. Great that they can jump right in with no letdown. To be fair, Hull rotated as well, but we've all seen games where we play down to another teams level.

Iwobi & Elneny seem the real deal. Still not sure about Chambers frankly.
