It's a shame that Mexico or Costa Rica aren't in Group B because IMO they are both better than T&T and Guyana.

    Mexico - Costa Rica

09' 0-1 Mexico fk at circle top wide right, to 9m center, headed away. Bicycle flick sends #7 Melissa Herrera to circle back right, square pass left poked away. #11 Raquel Rodriguez regathers, tap square to #15 Cristin Granados into circle front half. Long inside-out diagonal pass bounces past #14 Monica Flores caught inside, RB #5 Diana Saenz(!) wins race to box top right. Saenz leans past Flores, slides at 8m mid-right and hooks a cross to box top arc left. #14 María Barrantes comes centerward but lets #10 Shirley Cruz run on and shoot -- blocked by Romero, through box top left. #12 Lixy Rodriguez runs on and shoots, deflects off #8 Noyola's hip to 16m left post. #14 Barrantes shanks a shot foul -- but directly to Rodriguez 1-v-2 at 9m right post. Rodriguez dribbles away to 11m 1/4 right, left instep pull shot while falling down and away -- nutmegs the CB, rolls softly just inside right post low.

Praying that it's not the A-word for Rangel.

Looked pretty bad for Rangel. Does anybody think it might be ACL tear?

Also why did Mexico make a second sub before the halftime?

Raquel Rodriguez is dominating the midfield. And Shirley Cruz is her partner in frustrating the Mexicans.

Are the Mexicans worn out? No offense whatsoever.

I'm a big fan of Ari Romero at right back for Mexico. She's bulked up and looking much meaner than the diminutive player for the Houston Dash in 2014.

Having to defend for almost the entire game against the US clearly took its toll. They look spent already, and with only one sub left.

55' 0-1 Saenz through box right to 6m mid-right, backpass to 12m right post for Rodriguez -- #6 Nieto clatters into her right ankle, Rodriguez faceplants as Nieto rolls up her legs. Penal!

57' 0-2 CRC pk, #11 Rodriguez right instep bends into back left 1/3 high, Santiago came out but lunged wrong.

79' 1-2 Mexico right throw-in at 12m, to #10 Katlyn Johnson facing far touch at 6m mid-right. Standing-jump back-header flick to 7m 6-right, #9 Maribel Domínguez blind bicycle kick perfectly soft-lobs GK #1 Dinnia Diaz, drops into back left low. You've got ten toenails, chew those next! one per minute

90+1' (of +3') 1-2 Mexico diagonal pass left from 30m center, #9 Domínguez destroys the trap and in alone!! How does that even happen! Domínguez one touch at box top mid-left to 8m 6-left, runs around forehand, shoots far-post curl -- too far, not enough curl, wide right.

90+4' (of +3') 1-2 Mexico last-gasp chip to spot, ball bounces rightward at Domínguez's feet! She collects at 9m right post, turn-and-shoot blocked high. Before ball lands --

    FT 1-2. Costa Rica!

That bicycle kick by Dominguez is going to be the goal of the tournament. Raquel Rodriguez of Costa Rica looks like she might be the player of the tournament.

Too little, too late for Mexico. They were sleep-walking for about 70 minutes. Their near perfect defense against the US was a mess against Costa Rica.

Costa Rica has taken the #3 spot in CONCACAF over Mexico. They were better then them in World Cup Qualifying, at the World Cup & now in Olympic qualifying.

    It's now:
    #1: USA
    #2: Canada
    #3: Costa Rica
    #4: Mexico
    #5: Trinidad & Tobago

T&T with Waldrum is definitely #5. Without him, I'm not so sure. The Caribbean is an odd place for football. Jamaica, Haiti, and Puerto Rico all could challenge, I think.

Hmm, when I click on it, its not working either but I don't see what's wrong with the link. However, it works when I go to the site through this tweet, so perhaps try that?

Bah, he apparently takes on him the responsability of the failure and talks about the President of his Federation making evaluations about his position, but then he goes on planning (clueless) future plans as if nothing happened, because he knows well that actually no-one will actually question his job-position, just as nobody ever did in the past...:x3:

He blabbers about starting again from U-17 and U-20 programs... Do I remember well that this sort of satrap controls whole Mexican program, from youth teams to Senior Team? o_O:x3::unsure:

Trinidad & Tobago just missed out on qualifying for the WWC in 2015. There's no doubt they're #5. The chances of them beating the USA in the semis is unlikely to see them in the Olympics. So they must hope for the 2019 WWC is enough berths are granted. Only 3 makes it very tough. 4 could see them through if they can upset either Mexico or Costa Rica. 4.5 or 5 should boost them into their first WWC.
