You'd think a video about the kit (at least in part) would show the kit.

    What do I know? Everyone's a director!

Not when it's a horrorshow. The trick is often to keep the monster just off camera or in the shadows.

(Thanks for the extended LOL, Tony.)

Not a lot of new info here, but I'm not sure I buy the idea that there is more of a sense of urgency. The two sides are far apart, adn Jones' alleged offer from Hanover is looking less likely--if he signed today he's only play like 8 games and they may be too far out to avoid relegation at that point. Besides, he can spend his summer playing for the Nats, and training with the Galaxy to stay in shape, and then sign with someone before the Fall season starts. Not like Klinsmann would ever make the exception for a German-American who not only isn't playing well for his club, he doesn't even have a club...

From the Revs point of view, they aren't likely to raise their offer by much. They actually did the right thing in signing Kouassi, but in a place where all bow and worship the God of the Budget, well, sorry, you already spent all the money you're gonna get this year for players. Too bad the new guy won't be able to play until 2017.

To the Krafts, it really does not matter that the most marketable player since Taylor Twellman is gone and isn't coming back. As long as the modest club we have here doesn't lose too much money, Kraft Soccer Inc. will clean up with Copa America this year. Plus, some of those people will probably also go to the mall, y'know. They gotta get their money's worth for the $40 parking!

The Revs try a method once, and when that doesn't work, move on. They tried to sign a moderately-priced player who was 26, no serious injury history and a good track record with a decent national team and clubs. Plus, he was willing to play for $182,000. But because this particular guy didn't work out, that was the last time they tried that route. An expensive DP, a National Team star with name recognition and ability to instantly make the team better, a true needle-mover? Great. But when it comes to the second contract, forget it. We'll never see another $1 million+ player in New England. Now they sign a promising 26 year old with a good pedigree, a real DP, but not making top-dollar, but he gets injured just after signing the pre-contract. That's the last time we'll see them do something like that again...

    Cheer up Charlie.

I think the good news would be not having Jones return on some expensive multi-year deal... It's not like he would/could gracefully transition out of the spotlight and into a long term coaching role with the Revs, so why try to satisfy his bloated demands now? I don't know many MLS teams who would do that for just a few key results this season, let alone the Revs. If he transitions to staff it'll probably be somewhere between the Coliseum and Carson.

IMO the Revs need an on-field leader to step up, it's true - but they could play better ball by simply finding a solid dmid from within MLS.

If there are going to be "haves" and "have-nots" in MLS, with clubs that by hook or crook bend the cap, or get rules custom-made for them to overspend, etc... I'd rather the system favored development, and clubs that invest in USL teams and top shelf academies. Why not let them call up players on the fly?

(There's probably a simple answer to this simpleton question.)

No, I prefer to recognize the fact that being a Revs fan is acknowledging that we are all just unwilling passengers on a runaway train to doom and annihilation. Brief spasms of joy, like losing 5 Cup Finals, are only there to point out the total hoplessness in all human endeavor.
Yeah, it seems his ship has sailed, and ironically enough, it seems that the Revs just swung a deal for a D-mid from Vancouver, and all they gave up was some form of Monopoly money and not a player.

So I guess one of the presidential candidates was right when he said "Let's just dispel with this fiction that Mike Burns does not know what he's doing. He knows exactly what he's doing." That's why he's not only 4-5 steps ahead of everyone else, he's also smarter than the average bear. The jury is still out on whether he is the sharpest tool in the shed, but everyone seems to agree with the fact that he is indeed a tool.

Thank god NYCFC unveiled a new kit. How long do they expect their fans to hold on to stale, months old shirts? I mean, sure, the old look has tradition on its side - after all it went back all the way to April 2015! But on with the new, I say! Fresher, brighter, bigger better and newer! Where do I give them my $90?

The new CBA has allowances for this sort of thing. USL players can be called up for four stints of four days each over the course of the season, and can play in two MLS games.
