as mentioned by @Buggy88 and @Zhou Jiabao , Perrin has been sacked. should we go for the chinese coach or foreign coach? if foreign coach, should it be someone bigger name than perrin?
Are there any good Chinese managers though that come to mind? Gao Hongbo was probably the only one. If the CFA decides to go with a foreign manager, then it should be a big name like Lippi (even though he is retired).
Just to play devil's advocate, Jose Mourinho? He is available However I do believe China do need a manager to galvanise the squad, Lippi would obviously be my first choice but I wouldn't mind seeing Sven-Göran Eriksson or Felipe Scolari. Think about it they've got knowledge of Chinese football, culture and international experience. Particularly with Eriksson and his time dealing with the most under performing nation in England, as pointed out in these forums China is Asia's most under performing nation. If he learnt a few lessons with his time with England and utilized that knowledge for China then we've got a decent manager on our hands.
i got a feeling Gong Lei might be considered to take care of the team too. i just hope it is not Fu Bo lol.
why perrin got fired: http://sports.163.com/16/0109/07/BCSC6RHF00051C8M.html#p=B8M2GFKJ4FFD0005 typical low quality chinese media writing. kinda bullshit.
"尽管国足只是击败了青黄不接的沙特和乌兹别克以及水平急剧下降的朝鲜,小组出线即脆败给澳大利亚" ffs i want to shoot the author in the head after reading this sentence.
gao hongbo is in the rumour that "he applied to manage the chinese football team". hypocrite chinese media now saying "oh chinese FA owe him a position, oh gao hongbo was one of the better local managers because he defeated france and south korea on friendly matches, oh gao hongbo had experience in netherlands and etc" blah blah blah. ffs those where are those spineless reporters from couple years back that wrote "gao hongbo only wins in friendlies, he bribed the FA to get the job, his wife works in FA so he gets preferred treatments" mind you, i like gao hongbo myself, but there are too many "extremes" in chinese football media.
Way, way, way better than those two. He wasn't great but at least he did alright for China. Camacho and Perrin underperformed badly.
rumour: chinese news says as of now, only gao hongbo applied for the position. no other coach did. italian news says chinese football associate approached fabio capello; but he rejected the job.
Gao Hongbo's squad for training: Guangzhou Evergrande - Yu Hanchao, Zhang Linpeng, Gao Lin, Xu Xin Shandong Luneng - Wang Dalei, Yang Xu, Hao Junmin, Zhao Mingjian, Wang Tong Beijing Guoan - Zhang Xizhe, Lei Tenglong Shanghai SIPG - Yu Hai, Yan Junling, Wu Lei, Cai Huikang, Wang Shenchao Jiangu Suning - Ren Hang, Wu Xi, Li Ang Henan Jianye - Yin Hongbo Guangzhou R&F - Jin Yangyang Tianjin Teda - Du Jia Hebei China Fortune - Jiang Ning Tianjin Quanjian - Sun Ke Vitesse - Zhang Yuning **A lot of notable omissions such as Zeng Cheng, Zheng Zhi, Feng Xiaoting, Mei Fang, Jiang Zhipeng, Huang Bowen, Zheng Long, Zhang Chengdong, and Yu Dabao
in this case, Sun Ke would be the only Jia-A player. surprised at Xu Xin's call because he has yet to play an actual top league game.
i think gao hongbo leaving zheng long and huang bowen out because evergrande needs them for the ACL game training. zheng zhi was never in gao hongbo's radar during his last tenure.
Proof that time travel is possible, http://forums.bigsoccer.com/threads/new-nt-coach.1756457/page-2#post-24045509 Now we're finally up to date in time and space, in a bitter sweet kind of way.
I agree. I don't get why Zheng Zhi isn't there. Camacho replacing Gao right before the WCQ was clearly a big mistake, but still I think Gao now is just the best among the undesirable options. Don't be surprised fans will be frustrated by him soon.
China WNT has qualified for the Olympics with one game to spare with 3 wins and a draw, alongside Australia who has 4 wins out of 4. Impressive for both teams considering they faced Japan, North Korea, South Korea and Vietnam in the group.
A team like China simply cannot choose players by position because we don't have the depth to do that. We have to pick the best players available, so I don't get why Huang Bowen and Zheng Long are being left off. Seriously Jiang Ning? And what on earth are Wang Tong and Jin Yangyang doing there? Those two were jokes at the recent AFC U-23 esp Wang Tong in that Qatar game. Although Im glad Li Ang and Hao Junmin return to the NT. I must say even if it isn't the most desirable line-up, it is definitely better than what we were seeing with Perrin lmao..
