I'm assuming you can't fly into Ticondoeroga. Flying into Albany (we are an 'international' airport you know) and just drive the 90 ish minutes straight up I-87. Or likely easier fly into Montreal and drive south 2 hours and just have to deal with customs. If you are flying to Boston, that would suck.

You can,but watch out you don't hit your head on a tree.

Actually,Saranac Lake is the closest airport.

You should pay him a dollar to eat 5 grams of lead dust.

Flew into Albany - much easier to go through customs @Pearson.

Took I-87 for a bit then a nice drive up through vacation country on Lake George. Not much to do in Ticonderoga besides work and visit the fort.

Could see myself renting a place on Lake George for a change of scenery.

Spent most of my time at the mill working on payroll issues - don't want to do that again.
No kidding, I travelled five hours to get there and all they have on the TV was news about storm flooding in Toronto.

Turns out I was lucky to get out when I did, and the worst of it was over when I got back.

I'd need to double check my route - but I was driving along the west side of the lake on I think route 9 - what wasn't towns to the south was lakeside resort or camp style vacation spots that seemed like they appealed to city slickers from the coast.

I'd be interested in something within 30-45 minutes of civilization that wasn't touristy. Our family spot up here is 2.5 hours from the city - on a lake with neighbours maybe a hundred yards away, with amenities (gas, groceries, booze) available with a 20 minute drive.

Something similar seemed easily doable there.

Nope, as far as I can tell it's a big moneymaker for the company. Though it's in the park so there's the threat of its grandfather status being revoked.

Amid denials, state workers in Flint got clean water
    Detroit Free Press - ‎59 minutes ago‎

LANSING -- In January of 2015, when state officials were telling worried Flint residents their water was safe to drink, they also were arranging for coolers of purified water in Flint's State Office Building so employees wouldn't have to drink from the

Governor Heckled at Old Town Tavern in Downtown Ann Arbor

My wife was at the Old Town, a small townie bar (that played a supporting role in the movie Five Year Engagement a while back) in Ann Arbor, last night. She heard a disturbance but didn't know what it was until I showed her the headline from a local (piece of crap) online "newspaper" noting that Snyder was there eating dinner and on his way out was, among other things, asked loudly by a couple of patrons if he'd enjoyed his water. On the one hand, I think harassing a guy who's just out to dinner is a pretty crappy thing to do. I also get the sense that Snyder is genuinely shocked and perhaps even remorseful. But...all the evidence points to the fact that his administration's treatment of Flint and all its problems reflected a tiered approach, and that Flint and the people in it were on the lowest tier. That their concerns, needs, and well-being were consistently trivialized or ignored and that this led to real harm being done to them was almost inevitable.

That explains why our governor is just a little bit behind the Ministerpräsident of Bavaria, I suppose.

The guy owns a condo here, so yeah, he ought to know.

That said, everybody I've talked about it is a) extremely liberal and b) seemed to think the woman interviewed in the story was a grandstanding douchebag.
