http://www.umterps.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=29700&ATCLID=210635088 We'll find out today at 1pm whether or not Endoh gets drafted. Rumor has it that he's going to be selected either at a low 1st or high 2nd round.
Wow!! Tsubasa Endoh is drafted with the 9th overall pick by Toronto FC. Playing with Bradley, Altidore and backing up Giovinco. By all accounts he knocked it out of the park in the MLS draft combine.
http://www.mlssoccer.com/players/tsubasa-endoh video Vanney calls Endoh the best all round player at the draft. "We had him highly rated even before the combine." #TFC— John Molinaro (@JohnMolinaro) January 14, 2016 Hmm, perhaps we might make a single MLS thread this march, considering that we have two interesting players to follow this season?
I was about to suggest it. Don't forget this guy! Daigo has his green card. https://t.co/8n3voDsE7G— Jeff Lemieux (@jeff_lemieux) December 17, 2015

It's not the first time Toronto FC drafted a midfielder from the Terps in the 1st round, the name Maurice Edu might ring a few bells. Hopefully Endoh can replicate the success Edu had at TFC.
Of course, Maryland is a perennial powerhouse. Meanwhile I am certainly surprised by my alma mater's meteoric rise to the pinnacle of NCAA men's soccer! I think Honda might go to MLS in a few years.

Why should they go there? Failed European careers do or if you could not cut it. An adventure yes. But that you can do when career is going downhill.
A lateral move, yet nothing to lose by learning to play a different style as well as English. It's not exactly as if Bundesliga clubs were banging down his door.
Tsubasa Endoh started on the right wing in Toronto FC's season opener against New York Red Bulls. I only saw a few minutes but he looked quite technical and creative. Later he won a penalty in the 82nd minute, which Giovinco put away to put TFC ahead 1-0. 9' Lovitz tracks back to disposes Grella and Endoh shows some nifty footwork. #TFCLive— Toronto FC (@TorontoFC) March 6, 2016 61' Endoh nutmegs Grella to get out of danger #TFCLive— Toronto FC (@TorontoFC) March 6, 2016 Close from Endoh & Seba! https://t.co/Ems1KyKO6V— Toronto FC (@TorontoFC) March 6, 2016 What a shift for the rookie Tsubasa Endoh #TFCLive— Toronto FC (@TorontoFC) March 6, 2016 FT - #TFC 2 - 0 #RBNY. Kobayashi scores to give New England a last-minute 3-3 draw against Houston. Wrong Asian lol En el minuto 93+ empata @NERevolution 3-3 ante @HoustonDynamo. @LeeNguyen24 de cabeza. #HOUvNE— MLS Español (@MLSes) March 6, 2016 Kudo is on the bench for Vancouver's season opener.
I was at the game. I was quite impressed by Endoh. Good work rate, tactically well positioned, and tidy on the ball.
One more I forgot about - Zach Herivaux from Suita (i.e. Gamba's hometown) has been making the bench for New England. He has represented Haiti at youth level but is still eligible for the US and Japan.
The @BacardiCanada Starting XI: Irwin; Beitashour, Perquis, Williams, Morrow; Johnson, Bradley, Cheyrou; Endoh, Giovinco, Delgado. #TFCLive— Toronto FC (@TorontoFC) March 20, 2016
