Maybe they gave people enough time to do it instead of doing it a few months before the elections. Like I said, if Florentino was such a firm believer in these rules, why didn't he do it in 2009 when he first go elected instead of waiting until 2012?
So now that they have "enough time" why are they trying to go to court to get them removed? The problem doesn't seem to be the timing (as the rules of the elections where know before anybody could announce his candidancy), but the fact that Calderon's man doesn't have enough years in the club, and the other side doesn't have any money to provide safety for their claims. I find it pretty hilarious that the man who helped Calderon rig an assembly meeting speaks about bringing democracy to the club, but whatever. I consider the whole "Raul, Hierro and Sanchis" trio compeltely uninspired. As if you only have to know how to play football and you'll be capable of leading the club into an era of success.
It's already proven that these rules do absolutely nothing to serve the purpose they were supposedly instituted for, and Barcelona is a prime example of that. That is why they are being taken to court for it. To top it, they were strategically implemented to ensure that no one would be able to run in the 2013 elections.
Yes 4 months short of a year. Couple=2. Few is more than 2. The rules were implemented at the last possible date, which is the last general assembly before the elections. Again, if Florentino was so adamant about these rules, why weren't they implemented in 2009? Or 2010? Or 2011?
According to the people standing against these rule,s they wouldn't have been able to compete in 2009 either. After all they "ensure Florentino stays forever". Elections have been won by players promises since forever. Calderon put up "Kaka, Robben and Fabregas" against "Joaquín, Reyes, Ibrahimovic or Rooney" of Juan Palacios.
He had gained enough control inside the club to bring them through at that point. Point is that the wealthiest Real Madrid members are also Florentino supporters so in order to win elections against Floren you need to be backed by one or more of Florentino's supporters. If somebody is out there that can win against Florentino competes against him, he'll win. Until then, all i see is people asking ofr him to step down so somebody else can take over no matter who it is.
Its obviously hard for someone to beat him, but he should have the conscience to step down voluntarily, and then he can maybe endorse one of these close associates to continue his work. He needs to admit his own mistakes. Maybe one of these people will combine his business guile with a sound sporting plan.
The people vote traditionally for the guy with the biggest names in hand. That's the reason Florentino can only lose against a former star player, because he'll lose to a bigger name. We've heard the talk about the "project" and the "football idea", but people want something they can understand. It all comes down to "I promise player A, B, C and coach E". It's been that way ever since i first watched Real Madrid and it doesn't look like it's changing any time soon.
I don't see this practice to be as decisive now, because fans are a fatigued from this approach after a long time of a Galactico policy with mediocre success. The Bernabeu booed Florentino lately, and unless his promised players A, B and C are Messi, Neymar and Suarez, there isn't much that can be done to improve the squad simply based on bringing in new personnel. So if someone comes in with the stereotypical promise of Cantera, listening to the coach etc bla bla, he will have a good chance. Ultimately, there is no need for absolute opposition of these two ideologies; an ideal candidate will have a bit of the 'stereotypical promise', and promise maybe one big name player, with Florentino actually helping him to get both the presidency and the player, as a parting gift to the club. Florentino should find the grace to bow out before someone beats him, and maybe he will keep some influence in the background. Hes 68 years old anyway, he's not exactly young anymore.
@4x4s The thing is he promised to bring players A,B,C and D and he also sold players E,F and G and gave the player A the right to rule over the whole team, express wishes for D,F and W to be sold. You look like a guy who only wants to fight debates with pure logic. If that is your approach i have nothing to add.You seem very direct person that only satisfies with proving a certain by logical approach.and its not even for the sake of constructive resolution but sheer display of arguing capabilities..
While i was writing i was asking mt self. Am i contradicting my self? ahhaha it would take forever to explain But i relized i was not ..
That's the same thing any president will do. Sack the coach, bring his own staff, sign his own "team".
He made a numerous wrong sels and bought new players just for maroeting purposes. I mean i dunno in what language i should respond honestly
While a different president will have the midas touch. Barcelona is presented as if they have a great plan in this thread and they made some of the biggest transfer mistakes in Europe in the past 10 years or so.
I don't think Perez would argue with the fact that there has been too many coaches. But most big clubs are churning through coaches these days. RM is just leading the way as usual.
It's funny how ManU fans used to be so proud about having a long-term manager as if it were some principled decision, but once SAF left it was "Moyes out!" "LVG out!" edit: and welcome back, Lockjaw.
