I think he has a couple of years left in him. Def. not a sprung chicken, but in order to well in the Libertadores, we need someone with experience like his...now!!

Hoping he's 1 of a couple more signings. Bejarano is good too. I dig that move also.

Rumors are they're after another forward and a CB, problem is there is only one more foreign spot available and the Bolivian league market is closed until the summer. Which is bullshit considering all the free players available that are quitting their teams due to not getting paid for 3+ months which ********s the players as well as the teams that could sign them. For example Gilbert Alvarez and other Real Potosi players are leaving the club for this reason.

Not paying on time is an ongoing issue through South America. It shouldn't be.

Pretty sure those 'free' players can be 'unique' cases to sign with other teams despite the window being closed....but I think they need to go to FIFA first.

Gaston Cellerino is heading to Club Bolivar. He scored 5 goals in 10 games with the New York Cosmos last season.

Im a Cosmos supporter, I don't miss a game. I've seen Gaston play. He came mid year to the team, not much fan fare in his arrival. Having guys like Raul and Sena in the team his signing was not big news. He started out slow, not sure if he was in shape at first. He played a few games in the regular season, not really impressive, we could see flashes but not a complete game. That being said he stepped it up big time for the play off game and even more so the final. He scored 4 goals, 3 on the championship game. He's strong and makes great runs, good finisher. Hope he's able to adjust and contribute to a big run at Libertadores.

After winning the reelection for Bolivar Presidency Guido Loayza just announced he will be running for the FBF presidency. The elections are next Friday, there are 5 other candidates so far. I hope he wins it even if it means him leaving Bolivar, this is a guy that doesn't get paid at Bolivar and does it all for the love for his club and football. We need him back at the helm of FBF.

Facundo Cardozo has joined Bolivar for a one year loan. A 20 yr old who has played for Argentina U20 .Seems like a good signing.
I would say we have made some great signings in this window.

Yes. Hoping that signing pays off. I still remember us having a young Matias Fisher back in the day from Boca who tore it upfor us when he was on loan.

Why we never signed that kid...I'll neverk now.

CONMEBOL reduced Boca's sanction to only the first two games, so we will play with public when we visit them.

You just felt it coming. They lost all momentum once they took out Cardozo. Insua tried to protect the lead once he left by bringing on Flores and subbing out a useless Borghello for Willy. Ideally I would have done the same sub for Willy, but it's clear he's not at the rhythm of a Libertadores match. Cellerino coming in for Arce too, in theory a good move, a guy who will run his ass off and pressure defense....but didn't work out as well. Arce is great with teh ball, and combination play. Cellerino is clumsy and lead to some stupid fouls early on.

Did I mention how I think it was Bejarano who didn't jump that led to the goal? If he had jumped,, it would have hit him in the head and blocked the shot. Quinones was at fault too, he thought the wall was going to eat it and he adjusted too late to save the shot. He too could have parried it away...but he didn't in time.

Frustrating/heart breaking last minute goal. Soething you just can't make up.....

But on to the next one. Hoping for a win in Colombia, maybe a tie in Avellaneda too. For sure though, we'll lose in La Bombonera...but I hope it's with a fight.

I was wondering who that was. He also slanted to the left. Que flojo de mierda! It kind of feels like this game will be the game that will come back and haunt us when all is said and done in the group stage. Que macana!

The next two games are at Boca and Cali. Boca will have its fan for the 1st time in the Copa (although they should have still been on suspension; freaking corruption) and you know that place is gonna be packed. Cali should be much easier. IMO, we need at least 3 points (4 would be really nice!) out of these two games for us to go into the last game against Racing at home still having a shot to qualify. Yeah, losing 2 points last night really screwed us! :(

I feel really bad for the people who were there last night...

Well, if we tie vs boca and vs Cali that would give us back the 2 pts we lost and depending that could be enough.

If that happens and we win our last home game, that would give us 9 points; I don't think that would be enough for us to qualify but you never know.

We can still get the 9 by winning at Cali and beating Racing at home. I was hoping for a miracle in Cali tying Racing but it looks like that's not gonna happen. We just need to our job (get them 6pts) and hope for results in our favor. It's a long shot but it's a shot. Insua needs to be replaced but that's probably not gonna happen anytime soon so at least someone light a fire under him; that guy was like a Robot tonight. No emotion.
