Good for Cardozo. There were talks of him going to a 2nd div club in Bolivia at one point!!

Brasil is better than Bolivia--so good for him. Bahia is a pretty big club too,

Bolivar seems to be the club that produces the most players in our league. Now Taborga is on loan, and will get some playing time. Same as they did with Suarez who went to U de Sucre. Both young players who can comeback and contribute.
I also like the fact that Az is giving young players a chance, not as much as I would have liked but I'll take it. Looks like Sagardia might get his first start.

Villegas has proven to be the best bolivian coach in the past few years, hopefully he can translate his success to the international level in this coming sudamericana

For all the success Villegas has had in the national league he hasn't accomplished much if anything internationally. IMO this is the year that Bolivar needs to push for an international crown, be it Libertadores or Copa Sudamericana. With a big budget and very deep squad its a gamble to place all of that in the hands of some one who hasn't proven himself. Hope the gamble pays off.

Also Bolivar got an $500k increase in the coming budget, so that should help keep Callejon and Capdevilla as well as bring some decent refuerzos

I'd imagine also with Villegas, his salary will be at least 100-200k less than Portugal, Hoyos and recently Azkargorta.

Ferreira is rumored to return, Idk how that would work out considering Tenorio has a contract until next summer.

Damn cholis, what the hell happened?

I thought bigoton was all set for a while I even saw he started dating some Bolivian lady. Why did he suddenly leave, what is the rumor mill saying. Seems very odd.

Villegas is a good coach but as nano mentioned I think he's naive at the international level. Is his brother still the youth coach with bolivar?

And I disagree about him being the best current Bolivian coach, I would give that title to Baldi as I think he gets more out of his guys than others.

Azkargorta from all his years of smoking has lung issues. He didn't clarify, but supposedly he said his doctors told him for his health--he's better off staying in Santa Cruz and away from altitude (and probably the smog) of La Paz.

I heard he left his wife for some younger bolivian lady lol.

Yes, his bro still is teh youth coach. So that's a plus. Thy have that connection/probably similar ideas on how the game is played.

Baldi though is a HUGE risk. And constantly goes from team to team coaching for a season and also dragging along his son with him. Baggage.

Villegas has been labelled more defensive, bt he has come out and said coaching Bolivar is the 'luxury car' of Bolivia in comparison to other clubs. In essence he's doing this so he can compete at the highest level with teh biggest budget team in Bolivia. Essentially he wants to test his coaching at the highest level he can, which he'll get with Bolivar. Don't blame him. Some folks wanted to say because he coached Strongest he shouldn't coach Bolivar, but that's a bunch of bull. At this point too, Bolivarw ill save some funds on salary by hiring a Bolivian over a more expensive foreign counterpart.

He managed to get the strongest to octavos in Libertadores last year, so he's a miracle maker if you ask me... :D

Cardozo is back with Bolivar, hopefully he learn his lesson from that shameful event and goes back to being one of the best Bolivar and Bolivia's players.

Idk if I like Valverde being the replacement for Gutierrez... I'm happy with Zamora and Justiniano returning tho

Bolivar won against Chilean Champions Cobresal this afternoon 2-1. Saavedra and Arce scored for us. Not bad considering Quiñones, Rodriguez, Eguino, Miranda, Campos were given extra vacation time due to Copa America. Tenorio, Velverde, and Suarez are still training in Oruro, Capdevilla is injured. and Callejon and Ferreira are not yet confirmed (I hear Ferreira's return is a sure thing now).

Callejon's situation is turning difficult due to interest of a Spanish second division team interest in him, hopefully Bolivar can pull it off and retain him for at least one more year to play Sudamericana and Copa Libertadores next year. Also next May he can nationalize for the NT.

I read Capdevila had to return home because of his dad's current condition.

Ferreira is already training with the team, and Callejon seems to be closer and closer to return.

Copa Sudamericana Drawing will happen on July 16, I cant wait to see what the team can do with Ferreira, Tenorio, Callejon, Arce, and Cardozo up top.

Those attacking players make for a lethal combination. It's gonna be fun to see the first clasico, I'm tired of reading about how practice whent lol. BTW what's up with Lizio and Campos? do they wait untill callejon makes up his mind to find out if they go?
On a diferent note if Bolivar's offense looks good, the defense looks a bit " weak?" a couple of youth players starting in the back, Landa and Baldomar. Hope they have a good game.

With Eguino and Rodriguez back from their vacation after Copa America I think the defense will look a lot different once the league starts. If anything its good these kids get some playing time in this friendly cup so they're ready to be an alternative for the real thing.

More good news for Bolivar.....guess who's back........ Callejon. They got it done and he'll be with the team. Now Bolivar is looking real serious for the next year, they got depth up front, in the Mid and at goalie. The only place where they need one more player IMO is CB, however if these young Kids playing the Copa Cine Center show promise then it might be fine.
    Anyway Callejon brings serious class!

Bolivar not doing well in preseason. Having trouble gettin gtheir groove back.

Talks too of Villegas maybe moving to the open position of the NT. If true, I am ok with that. At first i was OK with Villegas as our DT to save money....but now it seems maybe he's not up to coaching a top notch squad like ours.

    Thoughts?

If anything I think he would leave at the end of the year, coaching the NT and Bolivar until then cuz it's to hard to change coaches at this point. We play Defensor Sporting (Uruguay) some time in early August for Sudamericana. Also its to early to judge tbh, I always thought he was a good coach. I would give him more of a chance

Yep. I agree. Bolivar has the best talent by far in the league....yet Villegas has no clue on how to make it work properly.

The players look lost out there. With claure backing Villegas, I hope it's the right move and now with that 'faith' he can turn things around inside his own head and in his players heads too.

So apparently Villegas was offered the position at La Seleccion but declined it to stay in Bolivar...

Bolívar is winning in potosi but Sport Boys is winning 2-0 at min 70 so it's very likely that they'll be champs.
