In case any of you stumble across it, this tweet is pure evil... 658775561729347584 is not a valid tweet id (Jason Anderson doesn't exist... which I can pretty much confirm).

@Dave Marino-Nachison, A few names to add to your list that might be American but no confirmation besides OWTY Michael Scott (2006)-Bayer Leverkusen Dayo Salzmann (2005)-Hertha Berlin Alejandro Iturbe Encabo (2003)-Atletico Madrid Tyron Leon Haake (2003)-Werder Bremen Noah Daiber (2002)-Karlsruher Christopher Scott (2002)-Bayer Leverkusen Isaiah Thomas (2002)-Wolfsburg Joe Williams (2002)-Hertha Berlin Joel Young (2001)- Alemannia Aachen Justin Butler (2001)- FC Augsburg
Thanks. This guy, I believe, has a thread here (and some YNT callups) though there are two guys with similar names, so it's a bit confusing.
I think you are thinking of Elias Thomas, who I think is his older brother, but I've yet to find any confirmation on that.
I'm talking about Elias Thomas and Elias Sommer: http://forums.bigsoccer.com/threads/elias-sommer-at-wolfsburg.2023625/ http://forums.bigsoccer.com/threads/elias-thomas-at-vfl-wolfsburg.2015185/ And then there's Isaiah: http://forums.bigsoccer.com/threads/isaiah-thomas-at-wolfsburg.1994223/
Swedish second tier club GAIS has promoted their youth coach Benjamin Westman to be their new first team manager. I'm not a hundred percent sure, but I think he's part american? Although I don't know the specifics, or if he actually has american citizenship.
Ya, I've kept tabs on youth in Germany and with all the talk of German Americans and the discussion that brings, what appears clear is we'll have another wave coming at some point. It's not like our military members stopped making babies over there. German Americans will be a part of our program for years to come.
You already have a kid like Jeremy Toljan who is good enough for the US right now (whether he ever plays for the US is another matter entirely) and those not too far off from the first team like DeVante Parker. So yeah, definitely see German-Americans as part of the US player pool for the foreseeable future.
An interview on the GAIS website seems to confirm that at least his parents are american as he mentions them having moved back home to the USA.
RB – Corey Anton: At the age of 16, Corey Lee stands 6-foot-1 and is a rotation player for Kaiserslautern’s U17 team. Having made his way through the FCK academy for three years, the right back is celebrating his fourth season at Kaiserslautern in the greatest of ways, scoring twice in nine games. Though he is averaging less than 45 minutes per game, both of his goals were scored earlier this week (against Freiburg, Nov. 14th) in only 25 minutes. Read more at: https://tr.im/9ySRJ
Transfermarkt lists a Dutch-American '97 named Tony Nwannukwu at Fortuna Sittard: http://www.transfermarkt.com/detailsuche/spielerdetail/suche/2462670 The club's site has a '95 named "TJ": http://www.fortunasittard.nl/academy/teams-standen/archief-20122013/a-jeugd/tjnwannukwu There's also an '01, perhaps still in their academy, named Bradley Nwannukwu: http://www.fortunasittard.nl/academy/teams-standen/archief-20142015/u14/bradleynwannukwu
FuPa with a '95 named Cody Warner at SV Zeilsheim fairly far down the German pyramid: http://www.fupa.net/spieler/cody-warner-407624.html In the club photo: http://www.sv-zeilsheim.de/1/fussball/index.html?a=9&level=1 Seems likely he's a Yank but the team doesn't say. There are a few US-based players with that name but I don't think he is one of them.
@Dave Marino-Nachison, a few more players to keep track of Gabriel Springmann (2000)-SC Karlsruher Maurice Malone (2000)- FC Augsburg Cameron Sutton (1999)-Cardiff City Harry Hamblin (1999)- Southampton Jamie Leweling (1999)- FC Nurnberg Jose (David?) Posada Lachowsky (1999)- Getafe? Atletico Madrid?
OWTY's list and then research about the players, but I couldn't confirm that any were Americans playing at those clubs. Some I couldn't confirm were American and others I couldn't confirm were playing at those clubs.
This recent article says he will be eligible for the SuperDraft -- confirming that he's been at Rosario but not appeared for the first team. http://www.sinmordaza.com/noticia/335464-central-convenio-en-estados-unidos-.html
FuPa lists an American '89 named Nick Powell at German lower-division club SG Untertürkheim. http://www.fupa.net/spieler/nick-powell-727948.html He is on the roster, but don't know about his Yank-ness. http://www.sgu07.de/
It does appear that he was really in Germany, but he was playing HS soccer in Texas a year or two ago. Not sure where he is now.
Transfermarkt says a '96 GK at Serie D club SAMMAURESE, apparently on loan from Cesena, is Italian-American, though born in San Marino. Anything's possible, but I don't know more at this moment. http://www.transfermarkt.com/alex-stimac/profil/spieler/306625 http://www.sammaurese.it/squadra-3.html http://www.calciomercato.com/news/cesena-ufficiale-arriva-un-giovane-portiere-734410
I was going through wikipedia and wound up on the Arsenal academy page. Under the rosters there is a goalkeeper named George Philips with and American flag next to his name. Never heard of the guy, is he actually American? Did a little research couldn't find anything. wiki: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arsenal_F.C._Academy#Schoolboys
Good question. Wiki has proven pretty unreliable, but not completely. He seems to exist and is a '99 GK at the club, but I also haven't been able to quickly find anything saying he's a Yank.
