Detroit City has released its "now play nice, kiddies" policies for the fans this year. First, I would like to say, "It's about time." There were too many times where I went home with throbbing headaces from the too-rowdy DCFC fans. (I mean that literaly having headaches; not figuratively or an exaggeration.) I have also said the same thing to team owners when I've seen them (at Oakland U games, etc.). Maybe they are listening to some of us fans. (Even ESPN Outside the Lines have had shows about rowdy fans at college basketball games, and some NFL fans say that that game-day atmosphere is not enjoyable. Same principles apply here.) The press-release seems to imply that the teams agreement with Detroit Schools to play at Cass Tech could be threatened if the fans got worse. Not sure if there is anything to discern from the "we want to be sustainable" and "to be here in 15 years" lines. (If I had a jaundiced view of this, I would wonder if he is taking a jab at the Bucks?) And another head-scratcher about having a full-time GM. http://www.detcityfc.com/news/dcfc-updates-game-day-guidelines

I would like to thank the city of East Lansing and Greater Lansing Sports Authority for assisting us in making this event possible in Mid-Michigan.” Lansing United (8-2-4) won the Great Lakes West Conference after a 2-2 tie against Detroit City F.C. on Sunday at DeMartin Stadium. TheCup.us 12 hrs · Edited · You can add Detroit City FC to the list of teams in #USOC2015. A source tells TheCup.us that Le Rouge, who finished in second place in the Great Lakes West Division last year, will be the last of the three unnamed representatives from the National Premier Soccer League. They join Fort Pitt Regiment and Virginia Beach City FC. Not sure what procedure led to these choices, but hopefully we'll find out in the coming days after its announced.

http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/socce...tory-from-1994-world-cup-roots-233408607.html Five years later, Detroit City FC is one of the most exciting sports stories in a sports-crazy town. The semipro team, consisting of college players from the area and some older former pros, now sells out the stands at Cass Tech High School regularly for matches against regional teams like the Fort Pitt Regiment and the Erie Admirals of the National Premier Soccer League. Wright says the crowds of 3,500 are so consistent that there's a thought to moving to a larger home in nearby Hamtramck.

Just curious is any of you were at the friendly between DCFC and "Columbus Crew College Program" whatever that is; if so if any players stood out to you or any other information.
Along with announcing a plan to move to a larger stadium, this article claims DCFC is in talks with Pistons ownership about investing in the club. MLS related? Not sure, but it's a path that SacRep is following. http://www.detroitnews.com/story/sp...y-fc-wants--move--hamtramck-stadium/71999716/
The DCFC fanbase seems EXTREMELY anti-MLS and the team ownership/FO wants NASL. If I was an investor trying to bring MLS to Detroit, I would rather start from scratch.
I think ownership wants what is best for the club, fans too to some degree. If that's MLS then that's what it is. I don't think I've read the owners don't want MLS. But they can never reach it themselves. NASL is outside their reach without help.

http://www.modeldmedia.com/devnews/DetroitCityFCKeyworthKickoff.aspx Detroit City FC is preparing to kick off what it's estimating to be the largest community-financed project in U.S. sports history, the renovation of its future home, Keyworth Stadium in Hamtramck.
they need to get a move on.... they are only a quarter of the way ($100k to start) .. their owner says "time is ticking", so they need to get going... i hope they make it... it will be good for the community... obviously good for DCFC... although i support a rival team in the NPSL, DCFC is doing a lot of things right!!! them and Chattanooga have to be the flagships of NPSL... those 2 teams need a challenge cup
