I was going to start this thread anyway soon to talk about current or all-but-confirmed rostered players and formations and what else not, but here's a bit of news to jump-start it: Source: Alex Morgan and Kaylyn Kyle will be unveiled by Orlando Pride on Monday, one day after #USWNT vs. Brazil in Orlando. #NWSL— Jeff Kassouf (@JeffKassouf) October 22, 2015 Oh, and while we discuss the ethics of making this announcement before the deals actually happen, we also "know" Harris is coming, too, so there's that.
It is interesting that they're consciously targeting a Canadian player. I suppose if Cyle Larin worked for the men...
Don't forget, Kyle, if the Canadians continue to allocate players to NWSL, will be paid for. So will Morgan. Orlando start their existence getting two players off the bat without a payroll. They are free.
My question is who will Orlando choose as their #1 draft pick out of college? I'm thinking Cari Rocarro out of Notre Dame.?
My understanding is that part of the trade for Morgan is that their #1 draft pick goes to Portland. So, Orlando's first draft pick (absent a different trade that brings them a higher pick) will be #1 in the second round. Were you thinking Rocarro would be that pick?
Okay, so I voluntarily can't see any of that person's posts, but from what you're saying, they put up one of their wild speculations again, DESPITE THE THREAD HAVING BEEN STARTED by saying it was
Spencer with the #4 pick. I'll admit I'm kinda surprised it wasn't Heyman. And @BlueCrimson will not be happy.
Fields with the #5 pick. WNY is the first to get hit twice. And not two of the players I was expecting.
Bledsoe with the #10 pick. Draft now over. Any trades gonna fly? (aside from the obvious Kling to POR)
That was my first periscope experience. Kind of cool. Have to figure out how to mute the comments... nonstop inanity.
Pretty reasonable, and not terribly unexpected even if a few of the specific names are a surprise. Harris and Hemmings the only players over the age of 25 drafted, if I have calculated correctly. More rumors that Franch would be signed by the team, so maybe Bledsoe was picked to be traded. Certainly the team could use some more defense. No shortage of attacking players, just not enough players to get them the ball.
Can't say I didn't warn you that WNY will look to unload some of the 1.4b young speedy forwards. They just had one too many. Didn't expect one of them to be Spencer though
To Washington Perhaps? They need an experience GK along with Wys. And maybe they can get a midfielder or two from Washington who have a ton of them.
