Absolutely love the logo. As an Orlando resident, I think it perfectly embodies the city of Orlando. Introducing Orlando Pride, starting @NWSL play in 2016. pic.twitter.com/aUrLQDmGu4— Orlando Pride (@ORLPride) October 20, 2015
I saw someone commenting that there is no purple stock jersey. Most NWSL teams use stock kits so hopefully they get a custom.
So is anyone watching this? What was said? Who were the two important people that were supposed to be there?
Nothing was said that we didn't already know. They didn't specify who the two special guests were but I would guess it was Plush and Sermanni. Those were the only two people not connected with the city of Orlando or the Orlando City organization.
This is an organization that has built some incredible marketing campaigns here in Orlando. I wouldn't worry too much about them deviating too far from their brand recognition.
Code word for .... Head Coach Tom Sermanni, "We want to bring players from the area home." #OrlandoPride pic.twitter.com/kyh1MVaiPx— Orlando Pride (@ORLPride) October 20, 2015
I'd expect these to be very popular this weekend.. And the line is already out of control for Orlando Pride t-shirts. pic.twitter.com/CBJZVbNs1b— Orlando Pride (@ORLPride) October 20, 2015
10 teams, a 4th year, (both records in AmProWoSo,) and all the hype we're seeing in Orlando itself.... No, I'm not crying, I just got some cat fur in my eye...
NWSL says Orlando will receive the first pick in each round of the 2016 #NWSL College Draft. Boston will be thrilled.— Jeff Kassouf (@JeffKassouf) October 20, 2015 Expansion Draft for Orlando Pride will take place on Nov. 2. Expect the rules to be similar to Houston Dash expansion rules ahead of 2014.— Jeff Kassouf (@JeffKassouf) October 20, 2015
With some of the NT player names being thrown around that could be headed for Orlando, Portland could end up with that pick or maybe Washington or possibly WNY.
This team is prepared. You can already purchase season tickets: http://www.orlandocitysc.com/pride/tickets
Wonder how many Alex Morgan Jersey's they could sell, should she be traded. If it has been a done deal for a while, they could probably sell a whole bunch of them at the WNT vs Brazil match.
So now we need to know if they're being added to the waiver process and where exactly. The draft class isn't that great so not sure who would be willing to give up a top allocated name for a pick without something else enticing. Or why Orlando would give up the spot even to trade with Washington if they're pretty much guaranteed to get Harris in the expansion draft. Spirit don't have anyone else they need to go after. The people throwing around Morgan are just wishful thinking, imo. I think Leroux has a bigger chance but that would probably be in a trade after the expansion draft once Orlando likely picks up an allocated player from either FCKC or Houston.
I also approve of the chosen logo. You can never go wrong with including Lake Eola in the iconography. To parphrase Henry Ford, you can have any kit you want, as long as it's purple.
There better be. Another thing I noticed. I see some parallels in this shield. The PSG is strong with this one. *calculates the sections for number of seats* We have 9,468 for sideline seats available, and 3,991 for the supporters. So around 13,500 in the Citrus Bowl for normal sales. I'd love to see the 100s sold out for the opener, though. Season ticket sales are open to current OCSC ticketholders, with separate sections for people with OCSC tickets in the available areas, and people with OCSC tickets outside those areas.
Agreed. Just also saw this blog post from OCSC regarding the process that went into creating the logo http://www.orlandocitysc.com/post/2015/10/20/behind-scenes-creating-orlando-pride-logo
