I hate baseball, but I watched the Jays game, and the 7th inning was the most wild sporting match I've ever seen from any sport, ever. Surprised at all the people at the TFC game.
It is damn close to one, and the games today are impacted by call-ups and players playing international matches yesterday (and having to travel). TFC started with 2 DPs on the bench and one not even in the 18. NYRB have their regular starting right mid on the bench after he appeared for Ghana last night.
Ok. Saw Altidore leave. Refs clearly showing some TFC bias. The nerve of those guys, helping Toronto by making sure they're not dumb enough to sub in Altidore.
Jesse Marsch complains to the ref a lot. I think this match shows how important playing at home is. Under strength TFC look good, but would probably down if at red bull arena right now.
You missed Jozy getting sent off from the bench, and Giovinco having to sub on far too early. That's about it.
Attending NHL action tonight; how the h-e-double hockey sticks did Altidore manage to get sent off from a game he wasn't in yet?
He probably muttered something underneath his breath and the ref heard. Yeah, that's how many are in attendance tonight.
I understand. But they DID follow the international break and the announcers are acting like they are playing through it tonight. Now should these games be next week and not so close to the international window is a whole different question. Teams in Brazil, Argentina, and Colombia all had games today while teams in Colombia, Venezuela, and Bolivia (along with almost every team in a Central American league) played over this past weekend. Recognizing all international dates is a conversation we can and should have. I just don't like when people act like this is something that only happens in ML, because it isn't.
Just got home, turned on MLS Live and the first thing I hear is Rachel Bonnetta belting out a Journey song. WTF?
Pay particular attention to the center line. The picks are in: http://t.co/3mC6XeuXk9 pic.twitter.com/mvUyvrQo8E— Major League Soccer (@MLS) October 14, 2015 Naturally, that means Vancouver will win. /s
I can't believe Jozy would get sent off for verbally abusing a referee. http://thebiglead.com/2015/03/31/jozy-altidore-red-carded-for-swearing-at-referee/ Oh. Never mind...
To the letter but not to the spirit of the FIFA reg. and their rosters today are impacted by their scheduling decisions. And the COL/MTL game was in the middle of the international break. So the league didn't avoid the break fully, but they gave it a good effort and it could have been worse (with more conflicts), I suppose. It is a big issue and challenge, and not unique to MLS. There is room for improvement in this domestic D1 league, regardless of what they do in Argentina or Honduras or Japan or Italy.
