Don't think they will release to the general public....You could try to get a pair converted, but you might run the risk of causing too much damage to the cage like structure of the outsole with sanding and drilling. Try a couple of the places that do good Copa conversions and see what they think they can pull off.

As an aside, I am surprised the Messi fits you well. It seems almost every I know that tried it on loved the upper, but couldn't find a size that worked for them. Either drastically too narrow at correctly length or 1/2 a size too long at the correct width. When I tried them on all that was available was a US 11 which is what I take in most of the synthetic adidas models these days and it was too long by a good bit. Curious to try the 10.5 US and just see the fit. The upper is great for synthetic, but not sure about the outsole being a cut out (didn't work on the Vapor 3 and 4 for durability) and the midsole seemed stiff.

I haven't tried them on, but at the store I held them in hand and I noticed it had a super pointy toe. Reminded me of when you see a group of women hanging out in front of bar on a friday night and they're all wearing those short point shoes that clearly don't fit, but they'll jam their toes in there anyways. It's about being, "cute" these days.

How can that be misogynistic? That's a real comparison.

We footie players will suffer just as much as some women who force themselves into shoes that absolutely destroy their feet just because they're 'cute'!

Hell, I did that in Vapors years ago, destroyed the top of my toes cause I thought I looked 'cute' in those colors too! :p

Had to tape up my toes to just wear them. I was so dumb...

It's not forcing the feet in, it's the reasoning behind it. Let's not get into a feminist debate anyway.

At the risk of starting yet another misguided rant by Jon.....he probably interprets it as misogynistic for the same reason Jay Leno's young Intern accused Jay of being racist when the office ordered Chipotle and Jay said he didn't like Mexican food. As an aside Jay subsequently called him an idiot for incorrectly accusing him for racism for not liking gauc...it was a funny bit on a late night interview not that long ago.

Back to the point. The current generation of youth and even many adults have succumb to grievance based mindset of current society and further fueled it with sensationalist headlines, Facebook/Twitter backlash, and the demand for the public apology due to being overly sensitive it about EVERYTHING. In short everyone has become so overly PC that a true comparison like above generates an offended response because we have by and large been conditioned to think we should be offended by such a remark because it mentions a group of people based on behavioral traits and practices. In fact such remarks are usually quite benign and often factually correct even if it is via general observation and anecdotal evidence.

Generally speaking, most people want to be offended and point out that someone offended them or made an offensive remark because it's what all the cool kids are doing these days...despite not even knowing what they are talking about regarding the "ism" they are taking a stand against.

Deary me.... You CANNOT be serious. You just can't.

My issue is with the 'wanting to be cute' line. No doubt the original poster reckons girls just wear makeup to 'impress' boys too. Bracketing all girls into this line is just frankly insulting. But it's OK... Let's just laugh about it because we're male.

Obviously though, without wanting to go into another 'misguided' rant (what does that even mean?) it's clear this forum encourages misogyny. Not a surprise, it's American!

For the record, I don't claim to be a 'feminist'. I dont believe in the term. For me, feminism is a system whose principle idea is not to fix inequality, but create more of it. For that reason I don't take it seriously.

But anyway, I'm not entirely sure why I'm discussing ethics and morals with somebody who happily habits a society which is so clearly broken. Over 900 high school shootings in the past year...... And none of you have the balls or brains to revoke a clearly outdated Constitution.

Waste of time. A society who claims 'owning guns protects people' without being able to provide a realistic justification for such an absurd claim cant be taken seriously. And you're a part of it J. Hmmmmmmm.......

You both need to cool your jets and realize you're arguing on a forum that discusses equipment that goes on your feet...somewhere near "Did I remember to scrub behind my ears?" in terms of importance.

Jon, speaking as an American, pointing out problems and issues in someone else's society would result in an endless thread that would see each side able to match every problem and issue tit for tat. It feels like, by using the logic that Doc is responsible for the ills of this land, my living in the southern portion of the United States (quite happily, I might add) means I am responsible for slavery, racism, and fried chicken.

Doc, obviously Jon (JEN14) irks something with you, so perhaps avoidance instead of confrontation would be a solution? As someone who also dabbled in a forum argument once, it never benefits anyone here...

That all being said, does anybody know if you get any extras with the PrimeKnit+ ACE or X? Seems like an extra 70 bucks would warrant some serious extras...

Oh boy....anyway--lets not get political here.

I agree with you, especially the stuff that's happened in recent news, but this isn't the place for this discussion.

I also believe you've jumped the gun a bit before that.

I think the extras in adidas' view is the technology of the boot....I doubt you get much else.

Regarding the other stuff...haha, that was hilarious.

Wasn't that the tag line everyone using anyway in the great anti-leather movement of 2009-ish? Sustainability, climate change, blah, blah, blah....adidas is back to using k-leather now.

In the same vein, I thought the X15.1 Primeknit was also dropping a cage model, I could have sworn I saw them on FootyHeadlines or Tepy at one point. Those would be pretty enticing.

Update.....the Primeknits just come with a bag. The Xs feel incredible though....the lockdown is excellent

Yeah I remember Nike and Puma (and adidas too if I remember correctly) that they wanted to get rid of kangaroo leather boots because they were endangering the wildlife population. I think Nike specifically mentioned that they were were working with the Australian gov't on this to which the Aussie gov't replied "uhhh no you're not" and the fact that kangaroos are still seen as pests in Australia (to the best of my knowledge) makes it hard to back up their point.

Also as @Dr. Boots has mentioned before, synthetic materials cause way more waste to the environment versus k leathers.......

I think it's Mizuno that has an environmentally friendliness scale for each one of their products on their Japanese product website. Something that other brands should consider.

Another point is that given that Nike shoves the equivalent of ten pages of paper with each one of their "environmentally friendly" replica jerseys shows how much full of sh*t these guys are...................

    Sorry long rant!

I am quite interested in the X and how it feels. I have been a big fan of the leather adiZero/F50 since 2010 and I think the PrimeKnit is the key to making a good synthetic model moving forward. To be fair the HybridTouch on the Samba model adiZero was pretty good, but it still doesn't match the comfort of mesh or the touch of real leather.

Is the upper coated? It looks like it has almost a glaze on the knit, which could feel odd.

I'm a little torn about getting a pair. I have both the standard X and Ace. I love the X, minus the heel slippage and I love the ace, but wish the upper was a tiny bit softer. So now I hear the primeknit X doesn't really feel all that different from the standard model, except now there's no heel slippage. I hear the ACE feels quite different with a softer upper and an even better fit. So, which is the one to go for?

I love the fit of the X. With the way the upper is designed and I even really like the laces too. It seems quite a bit of effort went into the design rather than just taking the normal X and slapping Primeknit on it. The upper is coated but it's similar softness to the regular one. I would be super tempted if it released in black first. But still the colour turned out pretty good.

One of the guys at the store had waited 5 months for them to come out and bought them the day we got them. He loves the fit. I'll have to ask him when I'm work how he liked playing in them.
I like the Primeknit X better but I did not try on the Ace as of yet......another guy at the store tried them on and really liked them but I want to give it a shot myself to see how they compare to the regular Ace.
